Use of power and winter: honda passport

Power is for hills and Winter is for snow. It simply changes when your transmission shifts and how long it holds in each gear. Using either of those will affect your MPG.

need to let a transmission shop code scan transmission for a transmission shift solenoid fault code or a mechanical problem.transmission has to be diagnostic scan because you have many solenoids if you have solenoid problem scanner will give you a code see no code could have transmission mechanical problems.

My winter and power button on my 2000 honda passport are stuck and it is ingaged in winter mode how do i fix that

Possible that the buttons are sticking or there is a switch failure on the panel which has made this to be caught in postion. If you are not able to use force to change then it can be that the button is stuck along with the base, use of a degreasing spray can help. Try using WD 40 . If not remove this panel and try before we can think of replacing.

What does the s and w switch for

The S stands for "Sport" mode. It turns on the turbo. When this button is pressed, you will have a higher torque; the gears will change at a higher torque also.

The W stands for "Winter" mode. It allows for a slower takeoff during winter/icy conditions. When this button is pressed, the engine will automatically start on second gear preventing slipping and fish-tailing.
