i had the same problem. the ignition switch in the column came apart at the crimps. causing it to only have contact in the start position.
i wired mine together.

there are two screws in the healights. Undo them from the front with a philips head screwdriver. Pull off the wiring harness from the back of the bulb under the hood and remove your light. Take it to your local auto parts store, (unless you already have your new lights!) and they'll get the right ones for you. Repeat the procedure in reverse.
I just had the same problem, today, check the tan- lt green wire on the fuel relay that is located on the right fender, mine wasn't pushed in all the way, this wire shut down spark and fuel
my buddy had the same problem with his bronco II im not shure what year it was but all it was for hime was corroshen on the back of the switch that switches 4x4 on and off
get your self a book and the n start troble shooting then if you can't figuar it out start wiring it ur self but dont use the wrong gadge of wire and amprage rating
