It sounds like you either have a bad fan switch or fan relay. The fan switch is like the temperature sending unit and will be screwed into the wet part of the intake or the head and the relay should be in the power distribution center.
Only two I think ac fan come on as soon as ac is turned on and the
engine depends on switch 188 degrees it schould be marked
on the side of switch also pull tjhe wire of switch when you ground
the one wire off switch fan schould come on if fan stays on all the time relays stuck if the motor random on and off relay or motor
first replace relay cheaper then replace switch ckek motor
sirect from battery always. Hot wire jump it.hope this helped
Sounds like you have corrosion at the fuse connection, try taking a small wire item like an unfloded small paper clip to clean that connector in the fuse box and replace that fuse, be cafeful to disconnect the negitive [ - ] battery post before you try this.
Dpending on how many miles, try changing the thermostat, also could be the ac fan relay not kicking on, the water pump is also in this equation if none of these work.
SEE WHAT COLOR THE AC MAG CLUTCH RELAY IS / UNDER THE HOOD RELAY BLOCK IF IT IS WHITE TRY REPLACING IT WITH ONE OF THE BLUE ONES IN THIS SAME BLOCK (HORN RELAY) IF COMPRESSOR ENGAGES REPLACE WITH TOYOTA UPDATED RELAY ( PLEASE RANK THIS)
some water from the tail pipe is normal but if the car is running bad then it is possible the head gasket is blown. on the escorts that i have owned i have found that the main relay is usually burned and needs to be replaced. it is possible that the fan is dragging and burning this relay up if this relay is good then you may be better off taking it to the electrical shop.
The cooling fans always receive power form the battery. The relays, when applied, allow the ground to pass onto the fan motors to operate them. Either your relays are stuck in the "active" position, or your fan motor wires (white with the black trace) are getting an unwanted ground. Remove all 3 of the relays, and the magnet clutch relay, see what happens. If the fans quit, the relays are at fault. If the fans continue to run, you have a fan motor ground wire shorted to the ground.
simple fix for now solution
grease the fans bearings sounds like there over do for this kind of maintenance
also could be a speed variable cooling relay
example a vehicle reaches certain speeds the fans shut off alowing the air outside to come inside to keep vehicle cool with out using much power
