I have a 04 Chrysler Crossfire-Parked the car and came back after a couple of hours started the car it crancked for a second and died, tried starting again and enging is not responding anymore. Removed the battery connection for a few seconds, reconnect and started again it crancked and died again. The experience I have with dealers I know this repair will cost between 2-3K. Anyone knows what he problem may be? I have a mechanic who can replace any part at a reasonable price.
Same thing happened to me. It was giving me problems starting it. It died on me at the stop sign last week. I kept driving. On Friday it shut down on me while doing 60mph on the hwy. I towed it to the nearest dealer. The said they had top replace the cranck sensor and a cam sensor. I paid $1,043.01 for that. Today I couldn't start it....
A chrysler technician reccomended that this issue is likely the product of a defective chip built into the key itself as an anti theft mechanism. This diagnosis is particularly probable if the engine will fire for up to 15 seconds and subsequently die. Possible methods of trouble shooting this diagnosis is to attempt to try the ignition with a spare key which is less frequently in use, and/or to keep the spare key on the key ring as well in case this problem reoccurs. The issue can potentially be remedied by replacing either the keys themselvs, and/or the keys and the ignition.
My 04 crossfire has troubles starting. check engine light comes on when i get it started after cranking for about 20 minutes. engine code reads faulty crankshaft position sensor. Check sensor wiring and condition
I would say it is either your alternator or your fuel pump.

I went to start my 04 Crossfire 2 hours after driving it home for an hour in cold rain today. One dim light came on, and car wouldn't turn over. When we wiggled the battery lead, the interior lights got real bright, and all the dash lights lit up, but as soon as the key turned, it died. CAA driver said battery was dead, and boosted it. It ran for 5-10 min in the driveway while I read the manual, then just died. It has had gremlins. Radio lost its set stations for a while, then worked properly for months. Headlight would go out, then come back on. Indicator lights would go on saying a light was out, then off. I'm waiting until morning-maybe a loose connection between battery and alternator? Or an old battery. Car is almost 5 yrs old.
I have a similar problem. Can drive my Crossfire and then it just dies out. If I take the key out and put it back in, in most cases it will start, however, the other night it would not and I had to leave it in the parking lot overnight. When I went back in the morning, it started right up! Also, after dirving the car, sometimes when I go to start it up, the key turns over with all lights, radio and dash working, but no motor? It is now at the dealership and it has done the same thing to them. I have also called Chrysler customer service and announced the ongoing problem to them. They seem to think it has something to do with the integration module/ignition system. They also stated this is a problem in the Jeeps as well and that was resolved by resetting the Anti-theft system. Also, do NOT have any heavy things hanging on your key ring as this can effect the connection with the laser cut key and chip. If I get a solution I will post it here, and if anyone else has a solution, I would be greatful to hear it. Still love my Crossfire.

We have had this problem for years. I have it towed to the dealership and then it starts. I have replaced the ignition switch once but still the problem continues. The dealership says it needs to stay broken to be able to fix it.
