Question about 1995 Chevrolet K2500

Open Question

1995 4wd 6.5 turbo diesel, runs rough, like an 8-cylinder gas engine running on 6 plugs. Also, starts easily, then shuts down within a minute, then hard to start. Seems to run better after warming up a few minutes. The fuel injector pump is only a year old, and I recently replaced a faulty PMD. What could be causing the rough running engine?

you could have a valve stem seal bleeding down when the truck sits causing the blue smoke on start up and if bad enough may be fouling that spark plug with oil I have an 89 k5 blazer with 140k on the clock it does the same thing on cold starts and is a common problem on older hige milage gm v8s. also stick with ac delco plugs.

Is the 2018 Hyundai iLoad van's diesel engine prone to injector seal leakage that may in some cases cause turbo failures?

i dont think a fuel injector leak could cause damage to a turbo. The turbo pushes more air into the engine so it can burn more fuel with the added air. a fuel leak either inside or outside the motor shouldn't have any affect at all on the turbo. if the fuel isn't getting into the cylinder to burn then it wont create the gases from that cylinder to spin the turbo up to proper speed, but the engine would run really rough if it wasn't getting fuel in one cylinder, same as taking off a spark plug wire on a gas engine.

2004 mazda b 2500 turbo diesel keeps running after switching off

Check how long it runs for after switching off as there may be a delay in the system that keeps the motor running until the turbo slows and cools down then shuts off. If it has it will be about 2-3 minutes. Another reason that diesels keep running is that there is oil getting into the air inlet side of the turbo from a failed seal and this acts as fuel going into the cylinder and as diesels do not need ignition spark they will keep running. have it checked out by a specialist who medals in turbo repair and sales.

My Trailblazer started idling and running rough intermittently. We thought bad gas. We were on a trip and used a gas teatment to get rid of water. Did not help. Delaer thought the same but now says...

I'm guessing you have the 6 cylinder engine and not the 8? I don't buy what the dealer told you. If you're really worried about a little water in the fuel system, run a bottle of Seafoam through the brake booster/ gas tank, that will solve any water in the system. Change your fuel filter after you do this, it will be dirty now, due to the Seafoam cleaning your gas tank. Wondering what would need to be "sealed" if there were a little water in a cylinder due to bad gas??? There are 6 coils on this engine, one per cylinder. If the coil goes bad, you would get a check engine light for a cylinder misfire and it would be consistantly running rough. Since it your problem happens intermittently, I'd check the wires going to the coil for any faults. I'd also check for a possible 02 sensor starting to go bad.

1 thought, does this only happen when ever you happen to have the defroster on, or the A/C? If so, I can help you solve your problem easily.

I have a 2000 buick lasabre that has been running very rough, my son put computer on and it said bad o2 sensor, he replaced sensor, and it is still running rough, but the computer now says cylinder 6...

plugs and or wires.
for some reason the spark is jumping out of the wire or plug.
the plug insulater may have a crack in it.
also use a carb spray to clean out the throttle body at the throttle plate.
all the black carbon will build up around the throttle plate and restrick airflow at an idle position.

hope this helps
thank you

Very Rough running engine

I think the auto-lite plugs are probably your problem. yes it sounds like mis-firing. That's one of the few times the check engine light flashes. I'd suggest changing the plugs to a NGK plug, that's the ONLY plug we use in our Audi's and VW's (work at a VW/Audi shop). Try that, and it should take care of the rough running, if not, it will probably need coils too.
