It's a vacuum reference - the valve needs manifold pressure to keep the diaphragm closed when you're boosting, and that pressure opens the valve when you get off the gas. Use a T and tap into a vacuum line either from the manifold or from the wastegate reference line and it'll work.

i was driviing my '97 volvo 850glt ---it just died, i tried to start it again but it will turn over but not start any thoughts ?

It is a good possibilty the clutch is slipping, would it happen to be in second gear?

go to your local volvo dealership, and you must have the car in your name, but ask one of the mechanics if you can have the code for your radio, they'll look it up and give it to you I believe.
