My ABS light keeps coming on. When I tun the car off it goes off but when I tun it back on and drive about half a mile it comes back on. Any thoughts?

Why not use you warrantee at the dealer

We can not diagnose a vehicle without it
& you gave us no codes

The point here is you risking damage with a
skid,trac,abs etc issue if you keep driving it

All wheel drive I would never get on anything unless
your a vehicle tech & know how to use it & repair it
they do & will fail more then other combinations

It sounds like the alternator is going bad. I reccommend pulling the alternator and having it checked out, most auto stores do this as a free service. There could also be another problem on the rpm thing but I would start with alternator and inspect all other pulleys that the belt rides with. Good luck.

Changing the sensors &/or tone ring may work temporarily but it won't last. I have a 2005 and have had it done and it kept happening. Had it serviced at dealer, asked dealer how to fix it or make light go out and on and on....after I think 5 yrs. it is still on. It hasn't affected my vehicle as far as I can tell. Comes on blinks 8 times, goes off....drive another 8/10ths of a mile and it comes back on, flashes eight times...and so it goes tidily bomMust be an Escape kinda thing.

Check to see if the plugs on the wheels are plugged in check that the pins are all the way into socket, that your ABS problem, next check to see if you knocked loose the wire on the differential most likely cause and be sure to top off power steering fluid. This is your hub assembly that needs to be replaced. My ABS light has been on for a while and I've had this happen before and went away after I replaced it. DEFINITELY try to do it yourself since the part is only $100, to save $400 in labor at a shop.

no you need to take it and have the codes pulled on it, the abs system will disable the traction control system.Without knowing what the codes are for the abs system it would not be possible to say what the problem is.

Could be one of 2 things you may want to check
Have a tech read your codes
Have the ABS Control Module checked by a technician. If that is ok then make sure they look at the altenator
In my case, I was getting voltage spikes that were shorting out system controls -the ABS Control Module and the battery, etc. Once they put in a new altenator, the problem was fixed.

My 1999 dodge 4x4 2500 diesel transmission surges back and forth between gears at 45 mph. I had my transmission rebuilt and it keeps happening. What is going on.
