Car turns over but wont start - 1998 Volvo S70

First step will be to have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up. If your pressure is low or not there at all, probably a fuel pump or fuel pressure sensor. If your fuel pressure is good, the next things to check would be spark plugs and coil packs, are the plugs worn/dirty and are the coil packs cracked,also have it checked to make sure the valve on the throttle body isn't stuck closed. Very basics of a car starting are always spark,air,fuel the fuel and air need to mix together properly then you need good spark to ignite it. Everything I have mentioned should be able to be properly checked by any good mechanic or shop. I work at a Volvo dealership and some things can get complicated for even a great mechanic that is not familiar with volvos. If none of the above mentioned are the problem and your mechanic doesn't easily find something other than what I mentioned then I would recommend taking it to a dealership. If it is one of the things I mentioned a good local mechanic or shop should be able to fix it and you'll probable save compared to having it fixed at dealership. Hope this helps, good luck
