Check if it has it; EGR valve and controls, throttle position sensor, and fuel pressure.
Process of elimination. A real time scanner may be of help

Mass air flow sensor would be suspect.

Assuming it’s not your transmission
Or fuel pump
Sounds like it could just be a timing needed
(Self chokes on extra fuel, until rpms start to rise)
Ty new air filter

If press gas then wait 1/2-2 secs
Probably air/fuel mix problem

You have fuel supply
Air supply
Spark
That’s all that is needed
I always first suspect air flow as it’s cheap to fix and very common

Replace the distributor, $50. on line, the trigger coil wire is shorting out. The 50 bucks was well worth it. 10 mins truck ran great after that was done!

Hesitation with TBI is sometimes a dirty Injector, make sure you have a good fan pattern on the injector and make sure its responcive. use a nylon wire brush to clean the tip, and alot of carb cleaner, also make sure that your butterfly moves freely, they tend to get gue/carbon build up on them and this will also cause a hesitation

I have a 1995 chevy k1500 350 tbi and every time it starts up it runs reaal smooth drive it for a little and pull up to a light while its still in drive sounds like i have a cam in it. but i don't i have...

hhhmmm only warm huh...is the fuel pump making a whine noise...if so chang it...any pressure less than 58 psi wils cause numerous issues...you can also check pressue and spray pattern by putting a timing light on and pointing it at the tbi injectors and note the spray pattern..should be atamized to a V shape pattern...picture a V upside down...and also make shure egr and intake manifols clean passages and not leaking...good luck..

1995 chevy silverado 350 TBI V8 standard powerloss

have you checked the filter, i know you state the fuel lines are clear though. likely fuel injectors have lost flow. the TBI injectors can be cleaned, but i usually just replace them. but check them using a timing light hooked to the coil wire for timing of each injector spray. the pattern under the light should be even and conical shape, no major spatter. if one shows low volume, the other one should be replaced at same time, it will save you having to change it when you put brand new next to old one a have same problem again. only replace with brand new, i've had 7 bad remanufactured injectors on one truck at one point in time, only replace with new!

Hesitation and backfiring when accelerating

there will be codes stored so the scanner in use has not got the right protocols to read the ECM
Nissan products have to be set using a screw in the ECM to get to read the codes
you have to be specific with make , model , year , type of equipment to get closer

I am having hesitation when start of acceleration. Already changed plugs, fuel filter

I had the same problem. New plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, MASS airflow sensor cleaned and still it would hesitate. It seemed to get worse when warm. Sunday I fixed the problem. Take the distributor cap and rotor off. Under the rotor there is a metal plate held on by two screws. Take the plate off, this will expose the optical Cam sensor. I took a can of MASS airflow cleaner (Plastic safe)(can buy at advanced auto parts) and sprayed heavily. Once it was dry I put it all back together and it runs like new.

Hesitates on acceleration

Does the car always hesitate during acceleration? If it ALWAYS struggles when it starts or ALWAYS hesitates on acceleration then I would say the issue is fuel delivery. If the problems are more intermittent and come-and-go then it could be an electrical issue.

I would start by changing the fuel filter. Changing plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are all good things to do as your budget will allow. I doubt you will have to change your injectors.

If you end up replacing any rubber fuel line, be sure to use the high-pressure stuff made for use on fuel injected cars.

I hope this helps! -Nick

1987 chevy s-10 2.8 motor. Wont start and gas present on plugs. Getting fire and fuel. TBI injection. New plugs wires cap and rotor. Checked TDC and checked firing order.

Is it flooded? Have you tried holding the accelerator to the floor? You have gas spraying out of the injectors when cranking? Does it even try?
