Question about 1989 Oldsmobile Delta 88

Pcv valve where is the pcv valve located on the motor of the 1989 oldsmobile delta 88? I need to replace it, but can't seem to find it on the valve cover like most of the pcv valves are located. I know the part number, it is ac-type cv-899c.

The PCV valve is located under the MAF sensor. Turn that, pop it off and it is right underneath.

Alos get a haynes repair service manual it will tell you all about pcv vavles and oher cool stuff too.

This is a ***** trust me I done it, I have the same car. Don't unless the valve has stoped working even if it has its not a big deal its just an emissions control device. you need a black rubber grommit, the pcv vavle and a new piece of small black hose with small metal clamp. If you go to a dealership they have special pices you can buy to make it easier. When doing this the grommit and hose might as well be replaced also they are small and inexpensive parts readiley available, just dont drop the old or new peices or push the old grommit into to itake maifold like I did. You have a OBD2 Set up. OBD1 won't read it. OBD1 stopped in 95.

I have a year98/88 delta oldsmoble with a 3600 engin and looking for the pcv valve where is it located

Valve Cover on almost any engine ever made

No one seems to know what they even do

Are you aware that they never need to be replaced?

They can be cleaned with any solvent

They only regulate the air flow from the oil
pan to the intake& that is to relieve crankcase
pressure & burn any fumes

They also stop most oil from going past the PCV
into the intake

A PCV Valve has absolutely nothing to do with anything,
provided that there is no vacuum leaks on any hose that
is attached to it

Valve should be installed in one of the heater hoses just before they enter the firewall

Back of engine smoking while car is running

check valve cover gaskets they might need to be replaced .It seem you have oil leaking or some other fluid leaking onto you exhaust pipe.

85 88 royale. Last summer replaced 1 of the valve

She should still have some life left in her. The water pump isn't too hard to replace, really no special tools needed. When motors get around that mileage, they will use some oil and have some leaks. As the engine wears, blow by developes and will cause gaskets to leak. I would also check the PCV valve.

I can not find the manifold absolute sensor on

Likely mounted between the valve covers and the carb/throttle body on the passinger side of engine.One vacum hose and a three wire harness.Two mounting screws.Probibly mounted on a metal bracket with several other things packed on as well.

It is part of the cover for the wiper motor.

Check your oil filter - The oil filter on these is located right next to the crank pulley.

Wanting to know the location of the camshaft position sensor

this 2 wire sensor is mounted on the passenger side of the motor just below the power steering pump. it is attached with a single tiny bolt.it can be removed without removing the p.s. pump with needle nose pliers
