it could be as simple as a fuse or a burnt out light. turn on your signal and see if you hear a clicking sound that would tell you if you have a signal going to your lights. also if you had some work done look at all the connections to see if something came lose
is there not a release button or lever in the drivers area of the vehicle ? check owners manual for the correct procedure to follow , is there a button on the key fob to release the rear door ?
