The Sentra is a four cylinder single bank engine. It will have bank 1 sensor 1 which is the upstream O2 sensor (before the catalytic converter) and bank 1 sensor 2 which is the downstream O2 sensor (after the catalytic converter). Only V6 or V8 engines have bank 2. Hope this helps.
Unless I am missing something the 2001 nissan sentra has two four cylinder engine options.
The bank refers to which side of the engine. a four cylinder only has one bank so there can only be a bank 1. A v-6 or v-8 will have two banks since there is a bank of cylinders on each side of the engine. So there will be a bank 1 which is always the same side of the engine as the number one cylinder, and a bank 2 which is always the other side of the engine.
Sensor refers to upstream or downstream of the catalytic converter. Sensor one is upstream or before the cat. Sensor 2 is downstream or after the cat.
If you entered the wrong year or wrong vehicle or if you can post the actual code I will see if I can help you further.

bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that #1 cylinder is on , and sensor 2 refers to downstream , after the catalytic converter. , this link shows bank 1 on a 2001 nissan maxima V6 being on the firewall side . if you had a 4 cylinder it would be downstream after the catalytic converter .

SOURCE: where is 02 bank 2 sensor 1 placement on a 2001
Bank 1 means it's on the same side as your cylinder 1
Sensor 1 is the sensor that is located before the catalytic converter.
SOURCE: 2000 Nissan Sentra 1.8 with P071 trouble code, too
do you mean P0171??
If so, then it means your MAF sensor may be dirty and needs to either be cleaned or replaced.
It could also mean there's a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor
