Some Kia models have a timing chain and some have a belt depending upon their design requirements. If you drive a Kia Rio, Picanto, Cerato, Sorento, Sedona, Venga, Optima, or Sportage, then you have a timing chain that is a critical component for your engine's performance.
I'm not familiar with this model of Kia since it's not sold in the United States. However, if you know of the U.S. model badging, then a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual should be the same (example: if Cerato 2000cc where you're at is the same as the Spectra here, then the Spectra repair manual should work.)

With motor removed, check linkage for binding. Also inspect for damaged or bent wiper actuator arms. Also check that pivots are securely mounted and not twisting the outer casting axially. Also make sure the motor is not 180 degrees out of position to the arms.
First off,its its a petrol engine, I'd advise you to try premium unleaded petrol. That should cure the knocking. The engine light may be indicating over-heating which could be a result of the knocking. Otherwise more info on what the light indicates, is needed.
