Yes, a bad engine mount can cause that much noise.
Hi Leo,
My brother faced same issue with his Ford car; he then took
his car to mechanic and got no help in resolving his problem. After that he
looked for some expert tips online and got his issues solved with Hiperformer
expert help provided in their online page www.hiperformer.com/blog.

yes i have the same vibration noise when i accelerate either from a stop or when i give gas , i think is one of the motor mounts also
I have a 2003 Focus that had exactly the same issues.....the noise was worse when turning right and at slow speed. I took mine down to the local dealer who charged me $80 just to look at the car....they told me that it was a broken mount and charged me another $300 for the part plus and extra $100 in labor to replace it....I found out afterwards that I could have bought an aftermarket part for less than $50. Thank you Ford.
I have a constant vibration noise in my 2003 Focus. It actually shakes the windshield. At idle it is not evident but as you increase the engine speed the noise will start. While driving the noise follows the same routine. It gets especially loud when you push the overdrive button off and slow down.At times after the engine warms up the vibration will deminish. I removed the belt on front of the engine and the noise still presisted with the engine running. About 8 months ago I had the front mount (passenger side) replaced.I'v inspected the exhaust, its OK, Replaced the intake filter and hose.On a rack everything looks good from underneath. This vibration and noise started about a month ago. The vehicle runs great; no transmission slipping etc.One thing I did notice just recently was when I I drove over a slight bump in the road the noise stopped for just a second.
