My 2004 chevy trailblazer is missing badly. Had them read the code for me at auto zone and it said I had a miss fire on the number one cylinder. I changed the plugs and it is still missing badly

I appreciate your follow up... Turned out to be the coil pack and now all is well. Appreciate your support!

Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression.
Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.

Hi, I wonder if you still need help? if its still missing, if its still #1 even after changing the plug, coil, and injector then I am afraid its the cam lobe or the valve on that particular cylinder.

It was the coil pack and my friend got lit up finding it out.... Anyways, all is well now but I do appreciate both of your help.

PO300 code

Code 300 means you have a random miss that is not serious enough to pick one cylinder. The computer measures RPM on each cylinder as the plug fires. So it is not that a cylinder is not firing but rather that it is not producing enough power.
Other causes are vac leaks and lack of fuel.

We have a 2004 chevy trailblazer 4.2 engine, husband changed water pump now it is missing, took it to auto zone they said its cylinder one missing, what could be the problem?

it could be a plug wire that is loose on the plug or a plug that may not be firing right due to dirt(carbon) shorting the plug not letting it fire.you can check to make sure the wire is on the plug tightly and pull the plug and check the plug gap and condition of the plug.

04' Ram 1500, bad mis-fire. cust repl s/plugs. no help. Codes for coils #7 & 8 w/mis-fire. replaced coils & wire set. Better, but still P0300. Compression good

You still have random misfires (PO300)
You most likely replaced those coils that set a code, and those were not the one bad offender, spiking the computer module.
Take a new coil and put in a cylinder,no change, replace old coil and move new one to next cylinder. You can do that once or twice a day, if you have nothing else to do. You need a 90 degree day, to really get that solved, unless you have an ignition oscilloscope.
Never had a bad spark plug in 45 years.

I have a 97 chevy tahoe. I changed the spark plugs, wires, distrubutor cap, rotor. About 300 miles later engine light came on. I thought maybe cheap distrubutor cap and rotor was cheap. I went to auto zone...

the number 6 cylinder is located (if you are looking at it from the front of the car) it is on the left side third cylinder back from the front. you probally have a bad injector that is just dripping fuel into that cylinder.
