You will need to get this in a garage to flush the line clean the carb and all the spark plugs . If you put two stroke init .It would have run very rich and could cause this . if it diesel then that is differant . Car will need to go in either way ..
Mass air flow sensor maybe drity or going bad . Ever had it replaced ? Have you replaced the air filter lately ? Video's on youtube showing how to clean mass air flow sensor , you would have to buy a can of mass air flow sensor cleaner . Also while your at it clean the throttle plate , again there are videos on youtube . How did you check fuel pump ? To do it right you would need to hook up a pressure gauge . Also check flow .Videos on youtube .Has the check engine light come on ? Also you mite try some fuel injector cleaner and or dry gas for moisture in the fuel !
Sounds like you might have got a bad batch of gas, it happens. I would go to a different gas station and put some high quality gas in it and also add a can of heat to the tank. This will evaporate any water that might be in the gas tank.
After running a pump dry you can start to ware on it and even ruin it if you try to engage it with no gas. Also it is possible from running the tank almost empty that sock on the fuel pump was exposed to more than it's fair share of contaminants. A little more fuel in the tank might help a bit.
Might want to change the fuel filter if it's been a while too. The fuel filter gets might clogged after a while. It's an easy hob to replace and is cheap and necessary about every 15,000 miles.
I assume you don't have a check engine light on or you would have put that down.
Sounds like you got a tank of bad gas. That would easily cause your issues. Start by draining as much as you can, put a can of Seafoam in there, add a few gallons of fresh gas, drive to the gas station and tank up, and run that tank down until your gas light comes on before adding more. You may end up needing a fuel filter or plugs again, but with minimal run time on the bad gas, you'll probably be fine.
first replace the filter this is the least expensive repair..when u ran out of gas u may have sucked up (dirt) in the fuel tank.....if that doesnt work bring it to a service repair station an have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to it....this willl tell u if the fuel pump is starting to fail...when u run low or out of gas the fuel pump can over heat an cause premature failure....u should never allow ur gas to go below a quarter of a tank since the fuel is what cools the fuel pump
