Question about 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

97 Jeep Grand Cherokee low beams will not work, high beams do. We replaced the bulbs and they worked for a while then went out again. Husband took out the lights and then put them back in and they worked again, but now do not.

Passenger side low beam light not working,

there are 2 lamps. both dead, (shoe drops)......
low beam dead on both sides?

most cars have 2 fuses. so if one side shorts, your not blinded.
check fuses first.
if fuses measure 0 ohms, they are good. (DMM , low ohms range)

if problem is more complex. then that.
we can find it in 5min with any voltmeter ever made. 1920 to now.

Make sure that you are using the head light bulbs for that particular make/model if the bulb number is wrong then the intensity is wrong too. Now a day there are many diffrent numbers of bulbs in the market according to vehicle.

On my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee the high beam's work and the fog lights work but the regular headlights don't. How do i fix it?

Assuming that the low beam bulbs are okay, there is a possibility that your dimmer switch that controls your low & high beams is malfunctioning. This part is on the steering column and may require some disassembly of the column cover to access.

The Jeeps have a fuse for both the high and the low beams. Find you fuse panel and check the fuse for the low beam side.

97 cherokee, lowbeam headlight won't go on?

Try putting your tilt steering wheel all the way up and see if it comes on. Ors did that and we had a pinched wire in the steering column.

02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Low HL & BL Out?

Well if all those years your car was working perfectly fine with that blue fuse just get a new 1 and replace it. But then if the lights still don't work check all the wiring in the car that goes to the lights and if there is no problem go to a mechanic and ask him to look at it. That's all i can really help you with i'm sorry i'm not a mechanic yet or i would help you further.
