Car died one day taking a right hand turn. checked fuel pump, changed fuel filter changed cap and rotor, checked mass air flo sencor. backfires gas out the intake. it will idle but as soon as u give it gas it dies. i took it to a shop and he had it for five weeks and he couldnt figure it out. please help

Hello,when you changed the cap and rotor did you have them check the timming,the timing chain may have jumped a clog,fuel pump may be getting weak,check you air filter make sure you pull it out in case mice filled up the space undernieth the element,check or change fuel filter,,may be a bad batch of gas may have some water in it,,good luck..

you might have a blocked catalogue in your manafold systrm

This vehicle does not use points, it has a solid state magnetic pick up to trigger ignition. Try changing the air filter. A dirty air filter can put the MAF ( mass airflow sensor) out of range.

signs of a bad fuel pressure regulator. the vehicle runs rough, the engine will not start usually in the mornings. many times engine starts but stalls shortly after starting. a bad regulator can result in fouled plugs. black soot on plugs, blake smoke from tailpipe, running rough, stalling. you could have residue in fuel tank and need to change fuel filter again. have a very good day !!

Sounds like fuel problems. Turning your car in any direction has nothing to do with it. I assume your car is fuel in jected. Also that you have had the plugs , wires , cap and rotor replaced. If not do this. Then if you still have the problems the fuel presure has to be checked. That requires an inline gage be attached to check the presure while engine is running. If thats okay, then the fuel presure regulator might be sticking. Of course things like water in the fuel take and filters all need to be checked. Im sorry that its a big job. If you have to pay someone itll cost you money. If they just replace parts (guessing) thats no way to go about it. So plugs, wires, cap and rotor.replace. Then fuel delivery. I suggest you get the book for 15 bucks from autozone. Good luck

Change the crankshaft sencer.

Give it a good tune up. Change the cap and rotor, plugs. Make sure that the plug wires are in good shape and not broken from heat.

also with request of pcv valve check does car shake or vibrate when trying to accelerate? if that is to be the case more than likely bad pcv valve.
