Hi, I have a Subaru Legacy GT limited 2002 My car just won't start now, but the last time it did I was turning on my turn signals when all the dash indicators turned on including hand brake which was down , oil, check engin, air bag ... I turned the turn signal off and all was left liten in the dash board was my check engine indicator. I didn't switch my turn lights on anymore until I got home but when I had to stop to a green light car acted like it wanted to turn off so I switched to neutral and gazed up until light turned greed. when dying the dash lights deem out and the radio doesn't work. Notice that the car was still working. When I finally got home I turned it off and it just won't start anymore. I have tested the battery and it works fine, I could not test the alternator or the central chip. Can you help me?

It sounds like a bad alternator. How do you know the battery is good? Try to jump start it.

Testimonial: "I will try to do that! You might be right about the alternator, when I gazed it up all the lights lit back on normally and it didn't seem to be diying"

Jump start, let run for a couple minutes then disconnect battery, if it dies its the alternator. Autozone does free testing, if u have 1 nearby?

From what you have saud it sounds like the timing belt has lost a few teeth. In other words it is out of time.

WHat are some symptoms of a Subaru legacy fuel pump

The car won't start.

Lift up the rear back seat base cushion.
Turn the ignition on and listen for the fuel pump operation under the seat. If you hear no sound, then pull off the inspection panel there, and remove the fuel pump. Replace it, and retry.
This occurs on the Legacy from time to time, and I've replaced a few.

I just changed the timing belt on my 2002 legacy gt. but it won't start. Everything turns but It will not start. It broke while I was driving.

If you did not turn the crank to set the Top Dead Center of the first piston while putting on the new belt, then it won't start because the timing is wrong.
On the other hand, if you did a perfect job of resetting the camshafts while putting in the new belt, but the old belt broke while the engine was running, the valvetrain may be damaged already. Depending on which engine is in your legacy, it is likely an Interference engine, meaning that when the timing belt breaks and the pistons are going up while the valves are going down, they hit each other and the valves get bent. You can do a compression leakdown test to find out if this has happened to you.

I have a 2002 Subaru Legacy GT Limited. At 80,000 miles I had to replace head gasket, timing belt and water pump. Now at 185000 miles the engine seems to be making a lot more noise, more it seems when I...

I'm making a guess that if this is a noise that gets better (but doesn't go away) once the car has warmed up, you probably have one or more tappets that are out of adjustment. I have a feeling that they are hydraulic tappets on this vehicle. You are going to have to either try to trace the offending ones or swap out the lot if they are hydraulic.
