Dash lights My 94 honda accord dash lights are out. I checked all fuses and they are all ok. Could the dash dimmer switch be the blame? And if it is, how do you replace it? Thanx

Possibility of a dimmer switch malfunction, did you check all the fuses under the dash and also under the hood. check thuroughly because you might have missed one.

And where your dimmer switch is, us a stanely knife on the corner and it should pop out.. peice of cake, the dimmer has 2 wires in it so you can take a volts tester to see if it gets current when your head lights are on. Alos if it is getting current only on 1 side you can bypass it for another test by just running a wire from both points.

Does your other dash peices light up like your ac controlls and your clock?
if so it might be part of the dash cluster has just burnt out, bulb wise and 3-4 screws around the cluster and it pulls out also. All hondas are like legos and they come apart Very simpley.

If it isnt either of those, then you might have a bad MFS witch is shot for multi function switch and it is the lever that controlls your lights. Its expensive to replace though and is a hastle to remove from the steering coloum to test.

Get yourself a volts, oms tester and check the dimmer switch 1st.
if thats alright then test with the wire.
if thats alright then check the back lights behind your cluster for burtn out bulbs,
and if all that looks good your down to the fuses might just look good, and the MFS

hope that narrows it down for you

Good Luck!

If the dimmer switch doesnt fix it you might try the ignition switch, somehow its tied into the light circuit as well, if it is bad you wont get lights either.

Most cars have the dash light wire in the wires going to the radio. Did you use a store bought adapter the plugs into the honda wire harness to connect the radio? Idf not you may have the dash light wire grounded with the radio and it's blown the dash light fuse. first unplug the radio. then go though the fuse and find the blown one under the dash fuse panel. Replace the fuse.( if their not uswed up the fuse panel has extra fuses and thier marked as spares). try the dash lights, if their workingyou need to find the wire at the radio and make sure it"s not being connected to ground. You might need to use a test light to look for power and when you find it turn the lights on and off the be shure that you have the right wire. If it's still not working you may need to investagate the dash light dimmer swich that turns the brightness up and down to the dash lights. The overload as the radio was connected possibly wrong can blow this switch instead of blowing the fuse. The swich pries out of the dash and you can test it withthe test light. One wire is ground ones the power from the dash panel fuse coming from the headlight switch and the other is the lights thems selves. This switch it'self lights in the dark, so it has a ground for it's bulb.

Dash lights not working in 1995 honda accord. There is no fuse for dash lights in this car

I couldve sworn there was a switch. if not, probably the dimmer switch is bad. Take it out and verify operation with a multimeter. Also verify the switch has 12V

Cut out factory radio...could i had shortened something or blown?

Actually, I still have the factory-installed radio in my 1999 Honda Accord, and it started cutting out randomly about three months ago. It's some kind of power issue, i.e., when I speed up, it's ok, but when I brake it cuts out. However, once it cuts out, if I hit the power window switch the radio will come back on.
