Hello and welcome to Fixya!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive batter connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. before reconnecting it. This will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.

Please do keep me posted on the progress. I'll be glad to help you out. Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

Changed plugs and wires and put on a new igntition coil and it is stillmissing on 2 cylinders

I believe the Mustang has 3 coils for a V6, and 4 for a V8, each coil controlling two cylinders. First you need to check and find which two plugs are misfiring, and if they go to the same plugs. It may be that more than one coil is defective and the coil pack needs replacing. With the vehicle running pull one spark plug wire at a time to find the missing cylinders. If the engine slows or starts running rough, that cylinder is firing, if you pull the wire and there is no change you have found your missing cylinder, from there trace the wire back to see which coil it plugs into. Also, make sure your plug wires are not touching each other and are in the spacers the factory installed. If you still can not find the problem it may be in the main computer. Most autoparts will run a diagnostic check for free.

make sure you put the right plugs in the fault is most likely the coil pack follow the plug leads from the spark plugs and you will reach the coil pack about £60

Ford mustang - year 2000 - 3.8 liter. The coil pack is out?

I replaced the coil pack to no avail. I also purchase a code reader while at the auto parts store. This device told me cylinder 3 was misfiring (P0303). I found that the spark plug wire had shorted out on the manifold sensor tubes. Replaced that wire and done.

I highly recommend keeping a code reader in your car tool kit. very useful.
