The starter is located below the exhaust manifold on the LH side of the engine (side facing the radiator). It is held in place by two 14mm bolts on the transmission side. Be sure to disconnect the battery before you attempt to remove the starter.

I am trying to change my transmission fluid and filter, but I can't find where the fliter is located. Any ideas where it is and how to do it

I believe it is in the transmission. not 100% sure because I only know of the oil filters and drive a manual transmission truck. i do believe you have to remove the transmission though.

How do I replace the starter in a 2000 hyundai sonata v6?

Access to the starter is from under the vehicle.... probaly on the back towards firewall and must be over exhaust (looking up from under it) and attached to transmission. REMEMBER: disconnect battery negative post cable 1st! If you want to be certain it is starter first either while it's still connected to battery, go under and check if you have constant 12v on main terminal and switch terminal should have 12v ONLY when key is "cranking"... hold key long enough to test for current. If all is as should be, continue to remove starter after disconnecting battery. Bench check both old (to be sure its bad) and new (so you don't install a defective one).

Disconnect the battery.remove the front tires.disconnect the lower control arms from the hubs.Remove the axle nuts.Swing away the hub until it clears the end of the drive axle spline.Keep it to the side.Remove the drive axles. remove the starter.remove the torque converter bolts on the flywheel.disconnect the gear linkage and all electrical connectors.disconnect the transmission cooler lines. undo the transmission mounts. use a transmission jack to lower the transmission.Installation is the reverse of the above.Be sure to torque all bolts and nuts to spec, pre load the mounts and replace the cotter pins with new ones.it should take about 5 hours to re and re the transmission.

Have bought new battery for 2000 hyundai sonata, still wont crank engine. What could be the problem?

I assume your motor crankshaft is not 'seized' or otherwise locked up.

Check your battery terminals are clean and firmly attached,
Check battery ground connection is securely connected to the chassis and the motor/chassis ground connection is intact.
Check for 'click' sound as starter solenoid is engaged when Ignition sw set to 'start' position.
If no noise from starter motor, and +12v applied to the starter engage solenoid terminal, then the starter motor may be faulty.

Need to find where starter is located on 1993 sonata

I have not personally replaced one my self but my mechanic has located it to be towards the side of the engine. Dont confuse it with the windshield motor. Also if you want the manual for how to replace it I can give it to you. I am just not a 100% on the location I will ask around.
