Ok well this is where you might be incorrect... either you have a 12 volt wire bleeding scross or you have a bad ignition switch. the run wire off the ignition switch is the only thing that will keep it running unless you have a remote start then of course that could keep the engine running. you might want to start by making sure the ignition switch is beaking the signal to the PCM.

150 hp Turbo Diesel engine will not shut off using the kill switch. Any idea on what the problem could be?

I obviously am not familiar with the application here but petrol engines have an electrical ignition system that can simply be turned off to stop the engine. However diesels have super high compression that causes the ignition. Diesels with mechanical fuel systems will continue running until the fuel is shut off or the engine is stalled. The fuel is usually supplied to the injector pump through a solonoid valve where an electrical supply is needed to open the valve and the valve springs shut when the supply is removed. The fault is 90% in my mind associated with the this fuel shut off valve. However there is another way that a diesel engine can find fuel to not allow it to stop. A turbo seal failure can atomise engine oil into the inlet manifold and the engine will continue running until all the is used up.

My 2009 tahoe engine light stays on after you shut the vehicle of and take the key out. the battery drains too. sometimes the engine will run a 10 seconds after you shut the key off also

There is an ASD (Auto shut down) relay. When relays get older they tend to weld their terminals together so they never turn off. Try pulling it next time this happens and see if the engine light goes out.

My 1989 f350 duelly starts in am and dies quickly bought coil and ecm cap rotor and backfires and shakes and dies any ideas.i was thinking distributor or fuel pump please help

If you spray starting fluid in the air intake, does it stay running? I would go to harber freight and get a cheap fuel pressure tester and hook it into the fuel line. It hsould be about 40 psi, and hold for about 30 minutes after shut down without bleeding down too much, like 5 psi.

Try this too. Turn key to ON, wait 5 seconds for the pump to shut off. Then turn key off and listen for the realy to "Cclick" under the dash (about 10 seconds). Repeat this. Then start engine. This primes the lines & injectors if you are getting bleed down due to a bad check valve in the fuel pump.
report resuts. pleasre rate assistance.

ABS light went on while driving and noise stays on after ignition is turned off.

There is a relay inside of the ABS motor housing that can stay engaged making the motor run continuously without the key in the run position. If this is the problem the only fix is to replace the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve assembly. You may also may need to replace the Control Module that is attached to it.

The motor can be unplugged from the module and will shut off. The ABS light will stay on until it if fixed properly. The other way to shut down the motor is to remove the ABS fuse in the underhood fuse box.

The ABS module and BPMV are expensive and the brakes will have to be bled. Junk yard parts can be cheaper if your capable to replace them.

Keyless entry isn't working and alarm was tripped

Check your door latches. Since the light stays on, one of them isn't reading properly. Once you get that fixed, the remote should work. The light problem could be related. The computer thinks the door isn't shut so that part of the system thinks you aren't moving.

that fuse powers pcm fuel heater and some other things. when the fuse blows the pcm shuts down. causing it to not run. usually its the heater that is bad. it is located at the back driver side by the fuel pump. you can unplug it and see if it starts. if so you will need to replace the heater

its not a relay... it's a door ajar switch, most likely the drivers since its affecting the radio too. the switch is located in the latch and are usually a pain to change if u cant just reach your hand inside the door and pull it out... which you probably wont be able to do if youve never changed one before, you'll have to remove the latch so you can see what your doing...hope this helps and good luck

2004 ford f350diesle hard starting depress throtle nothing there

Dear dsmalley427,
I think it sounds like a fuel injection problem. You get fuel for a while until the injector backs up and then all of a sudden NO FUEL. The engine quits and the pressure drops and flow returns enough for you to restart. If I were you I would get to a good mechanic and check the fuel injectors.
OR--try adding a fuel additive that would clean the injectors.--Signed jwr

1999 7.3L Ford F350 Super Duty won't start

If its got glow plugs chk. with test light make sure there working, also there might be a fuel shut off selanoid that works from the key, when you turn the key it opens to let fuel flow to start, and shuts when you turn key to off, test light that too. And of course chk. all fuses and relays. New fuel filter is a must. Just make sure you fill filter with fuel before you install it. Its been awhile sense its run, its most likely lost prime, maybe a little either will help it pick up, but just a little. you don't want to blow the heads off it.
