1-The tank needs to be removed and the evap valve assembly on the top of the tank needs to be replaced.

2-Your motor is thermally protected. This means when it does get hot it will shut off instead of burning up.
How old is your pump or motor? If your answer is not very old (1 year or less)
Then did you have it replaced with a larger H.P. unit, because that may be your problem
If you have had the same pump motor for years without problems then it's probably
time to replace it (average life span 6-15 years) depending on maintenance and that it was a quality unit to begin with.
The thing to remember is if you have a 1 H.P. pump motor and you replace it with a 1.5 or even a 2 H.P. you must check that your wiring will be sufficient.
As long as your moving water well then be less concerned with plumbing.

One thing springs to mind... do you have your own private gas pump. there is a pipe inside the nozzle of that. basically it's an automatic shut off when gas pressure reverses flow.

I'm more inclined to suspect the gas pump then the car.

clarify something else... does the mechanic state why it is not fixable or he can't fix it. there is a difference

also have the mechanic check the fuel tank vent valve it may be defective.

It usually has to do with the angle or how far you are putting the pump in. You may just have to work around to figure out what will work right for you. Your first thing is to try and fill it slower. If you need further assistance let me know. If you have a moment I would greatly appreciate if you could accept and rate my solution accordingly.
Thanks,
lee

Then I would replace the filler pipe and and the vent pipe. That should solve your problem. It can only be so many things. The pumps only stop for one reason.
I hope you will reconsider the rating and accept and rate accordingly.
    Thanks,
    Lee

You have to check the filter.

  • Anonymous Sep 05, 2008

The fuel filter is located on the right side of the
engine bay just in front of the power steering fluid reservoir. To provide
room to work it is highly recommended you remove the entire air cleaner
    housing.

Two things come to mind.
The vent pipe along side the filler neck is blocked.
One of the antisyphon baffles in the filler neck are damaged, if the filler nozzle from the fuel pump gets blocked whilst you are filling up as you know the pump will cut off, it's to stop you getting a blow back and getting fuel everywhere.
I can't believe it cannot be fixed, I would get a second opinion.

Where is the Secondary Air Injection Pump In a 2002 Merce4des C230 Kompressor Coupe located?

Hello,
The Secondary Air pump is actually the Supercharger/Kompressor, the supercharger runs off the belt drive and the air is diverted through some valves for Secondary Injection. There actually is no pump on this engine. Quite clever design in my opinion. Hope that helps.

Regrettably, I ran my 2004 Mercedes Benz C230 kompressor (sedan, 150k miles) out of fuel, and now the car will not start! I put about 3 gallons of fuel in it thus far, and tried starting it on 5 separate...

You may have cooked the fuel pump.
The pump uses liquid gasoline to help keep it cool and lubed. Running the tank low or empty makes the pump run hotter. Someone will need to check the pump for power and ground.

When I put gas in my Mountaineer it is filling the whole filler tube up and shuts the pump off no matter how slow you pump it.

Take it to the dealer and have them modify your filler nozzle. Some other cars had the same problem that was fixed under warranty.

When driving at 15 miles, the car is usually on second gear, when pressing the gas pedal, one of 3 things happen, it easier feels as a little jump occured, or an increase in RPM, that settles down shortly...

I would suggest a service of the automatic transmission where the filter will be cleaned, bands tightened and new transmission fluid put in. the autotransmission is often forgotten about in our car servicing.
Good Luck
