I recently was driving down the road and all of the sudden I heard a pop and radiator fluid spilled all over and smoke was coming out of hood. I check it later and top radiator hose split open. I changed it out. I drive for 2 miles and temp says 4 bars. I get home and take out thermostat. I put in boiling water and it doesn't open. Installed new one which didn't come with new gasket. It hardly fit but we got it in. We test drive and it seems to work. I want to mention I did some stupid things. I let engine oil go all the way out alnost,low oil light came on and low radiator fluid. Now car only cranks. What could it be?

You should be leaking something, which would mean you should also be low on a fluid after driving.
Are any of the fluid levels low now ?
You may have to clean off the engine to find the source.

I would follow the big rad hose at the top to the thermostat and see if the water is comming from there you might also want to check you oil for water/coolant, white pillows of smoke comming out of the exhaust pipe as well the smell of exhaust comming from rad ( those are some signs of a blowen head gasket )

Check to see if the serpentine belt is broken or has come off the pulleys. One belt runs the power steering and water pump. If the belt is broken or has fallen off, it will need to be replaced.

Take it back to them. Most likely they spilled washer fluid or oil on a part that gets hot. Then when you drove the spill evaporated. They may have checked your antifreeze and improperly tightened the Radiator cap causing a leak.

Observe the temperature gauge for overheating. Some Lube places do more service than oil changes. You need to pressure test the Radiator for leaks. They could have simply overfilled the fluid.

Sounds like the motor blew up. Check the oil. If there is no oil, or the oil is white in color, then your engine needs to be rebuilt/replaced.

I was driving down the interstate and I heard a loud pop. My van started smoking and then quit. There is a big puddle of fluid on the road where i heard the sound and a trail following me as I pulled over.

If its engine oil you probably broke a connecting rod or the crankshaft knocking a hole in the oil pan,If so the engine is no good

RADIATOR COOLANT REPLACED ENGINE SMOKING

if its coming from the engine compartment its because of what you spilled and it will burn off as the engine gets hot and wont last that long. if its coming from your tailpipe then you have a blown head gasket

Intermitant jerking & radiator fluid boiling

My jeep has had the same jerking problem for about 3 months. And last week it started boiling in the over flow jug. But never went over 220 on the temp gauge. 3 days latter it just died driving down the road and started smoking under the hood. It was way over heated . And would not start back up after cooled off. Come to find out it blew the head gasket.

Help!

Well, an old hose can bust for several reasons. Would assume that the temperature change from driving raised pressure enough that a weakened portion finally broke. As for the fans, check fuses and connections, then verify voltage going to the fan. If there is voltage and it is still not working, you have a bad fan.
