My 1995 Jeep GC Lararedo wont turn over

Ive had a problem with the alternator in the past with a lose wire, ( i replaced it without knowing the wire came lose) and this morning i turned the car off while in gear, popped it into aux and put it into park/turned off my headlights. i decided to go ahead and try and start it up just in case and it wouldnt turn over, no click, i barley heard a ding ding ding when i put my key in. My headlights wont come on nada. Any ideas?

thanks guys

Sounds like you could have a bad battery/corrosion. The reason is your car was just fine until you turned it off. This means that the alternator was putting out the juice to run your car with no help from the battery. This indicates a good alternator but a battery that is no longer holding a charge. Take it to Autozone, Pepboyz, etc and have the battery tested.

If you have a voltmeter handy, put it on the alt and on the frame of the car or engine block to test for voltage output. If it's 14v then you got yourself a most likely bad battery or check for corrosion on both ends of your battery cables.

My 1995 jeep grand cherokee Laredo won't start, or

You might not believe this, but check your battery. Some of these vehicles have cut-outs when the battery level goes below a preset amount.
I work on Ford brands and on them, a low battery level will even disconnect the Alternator circuit and mess with the starter. Some even act up when the battery slightly dips below 12 volts.

Your antitheft can make your starter cut out. And If you think about it, all of the measurements to make the engine run are based on feedback of voltage and amperage. This is how the engine management system adjusts. If your prime source of power is low, then all of the following electrical readings will be low. Some may be too low to work.

Your fuelpump will hold pressure in a closed system for hours. The fuel pressure regulator will command the fuelpump to stop working if the fuel pressure is at maximum. Without responses from the other components and after satisfactory pressure, the fuelpump will turn off.

Wont keep charge

I don't know if your Jimmy uses a separate voltage regulator or if it is integrated into the alternator; if it isn't it may be faulty.
About this:
> if I put a fuse in the int lights will not shut off, so i dont use it,
Check the door switches at all doors and the hatch with the fuse installed and the lights on.One at a time, open a door, look for a button somewhere on the stationary frame, depress it and wait for the timer to shut them off each time; this may take a few minutes on each door.
These lousy switches are not very durable and the little plunger may not be pushing them in far enough to open the switch, alloowing the lights to turn off when not needed.
Our Jeep GC had this problem and I have put the small rubber bumpers used on cabinet doors on the contact point of the door to securely depress the switch buttons and the problem is now gone.
