I also have problem with the fan turning on in my 1997 Oldsmobile Regency. I have heat but the fan only works once in a while. Do I need to replace the blower motor or is it something else.

I have the same problem , i was told that i would need to replace the ignition modulator ,cost about 216.00 bucks more then the beast is worth.

I have not replaced it yet ,also thinking about bypassing this problem with

a manual switch under the dash.

    would appreciate input

    thks Bob

My '98 Intrigue's low speed heater fan gave up a year ago :( Oh well.

Two day's ago the blower continued to run even with the keys out of the ignition!! Drained my battery :( I pulled the fuse & charged the battery. The engine now starts fine and after reinstalling the fuse the fan ran on its 2 high speeds. Then only on one High speed, then not at all. :) :) The fuse is fine. I disassembled the switch. It appears to function. However, there is power to the switch even with the fuse pulled!! But no fan. I heard no abnormal fan noises i.e. squeeks, squeles, hums or buzzes etc.

I would start at the fuse. Does the blower motor turn off when the fuse is pulled? A relay is usually used in this circuit and can sometimes "stick" allowing the blower motor to receive constant power. A quick check to see if it is a wiring problem, switch or the relay its self would be to find the blower fan relay and see if there is another one of the value you can swap with it. If the problem goes away, chances are it is the relay but I always like to take a volt/ amp reading to double check my work.

1991 Olds 98 Elite heater blower motor continues to run with key off. Will change speeds with controls but will NOT shut off..

if you haven't got your blower fan fixed yet, im sure it to be the same as mine, the blower motor relay which is out on the firewall under the big fuse block. take plastic cover off over the fuses and move the fuse block out of the way and you will see it staight under that. should be two screws holding it on.

Olds 88 blower motor stays on after key is off

the blower motor you have must be for the automatic climate control. If so the fan module is at fault keeping the blower motor on

Heater on 1990 Toyota Camry mysteriously quits working after about 5 minutes of operation. I have checked the blower motor and the switch and they work fine.

If you mean the blower stops, make sure you have access to the blower. Turn on heater when blower stops check to make sure it still has power which I think it will. This will tell you that the blower motor is going bad and shutting down when it is warmed up. To repair just replace the blower motor.

1990 Olds 98 RegencPower steering suddenly lost power.

blower motor relay and power steering have nothing in common. could be bad pump or clogged lines. i recommend draining the power steering pump with a suction device and flushing it with a couple bottles of power steering flush from your local parts store

Blower won't shut off

You will need a Blower motor resistor and maybe a blower motor resistor connector end. If you look under the dash on the passenger side(may need to remove smooth black cover, vents will be sticking out) you will see a connector going straight up into the blower motor resistor(7 wires/slightly in front of blower motor). Pull out the connector and check for melted terminals/wires. If no melted terminals just replace blower motor resistor with part # 89019088 per GM to revert to part before 04 in order to stop blower motor resistor relay from hanging. Let me know if i can help more.
