As for the brake lights push brake pedal down while pushing on and wiggling the hazard switch. If the brake lights come on then replace the multi-function switch.

Thank you for your solution to verify my diagnosis to replace the Turn Signal (Multi-function) Switch. My brake lights did flash on & off as I pressed & wiggled the Hazard Switch.

I have found instructions and ilustrations/pictures on the Auto Zone Vehicle Repair Feature.
This is going to be quite a challenge for me to replace the switch, but repair guide is thorough.
Wish me luck! Saved $50 w/Bill Me Later at Advanced Auto, & can obtain a steering wheel puller as a loan w/ a deposit at either Advanced Auto or Auto Zone...instructions tool helpful.

I purchased a door jamb switch, too, hoping that replacing the driver's door switch will solve my power drain problem, and allow my interior dome light to work. Something tells me I won't be that lucky...,stay tuned to this 'channel'...hopefully news by this weekend!

2005 Silverado brake lights on tail not working, cruise out , bulbs and fuses ok

Brake light switch? The cruise and brake lights problems are likely related. The cruise control cuts out when you press on the brakes. I had a van where the cruse wouldn't engage. Then someone pointed out my brake lights were always on. It was the switch.

The R & L brake lights don't work, but the center brake light (above the lift gate) does. Have replaced bulbs and also cleaned contacts - no improvement. What next?

Need year/make /model for more help. The brake lights run through the signal light switch if the signal lights flash red instead of yellow. If they flash red, suspect a faulty signal switch

1995 Buick Riviera, brake lights won't come on except for the one in back window

I am thinking that the brake lamps in the rear taillamps went through the turn signal/hazzard switch. Play with your hazzard switch and see if they start working. If not, check the brake lamp switch with a test light. I believe the high mount stoplamp had a seperate wire than the taillamps for brake lights.

I have a 2000 dodge 3500 and the brake lights and flashers don't work but turn signals do work

work on one thing at a time, brake lights first, check the brake switch, is it mounted ok ? is power geting to it ? replace if any doubt. check all fuses, replace 4-way flasher, cheap fix . a repair manual has good info, including wire diagrams, for all circuits, etc.,,.. check wir harness @ rear of truck, & along frame for damage, corrosion, etc.,.

No brake lights, blubs and fuses ok. center brake light DOES work

Usually when the third brake light works but the regular lights don't the problem is in the turn signal switch.
I would check for voltage there.

No turn signals, brake lights. have tails lights. all fuses in fuse box under check out ok

The turn signals and the brake lights go through the hazard switch. Try cycling it a few times and see if that solves the problem. If the fuses are good and the 4way's don't work, I would suspect that switch.

Brake lights dont work Bulbs are good and brake light switch is good

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!

97 Olds Bravada My brake & hazard lights don't

There are TSB's for this issue. I chased this issue for months on mine. Go find the TSB's, there's troubleshooting pointing out the faulty part. It could be, the brake light switch, the hazzard light switch itself, the multi-function switch. I had replaced all of these and still had the problem. Wiring that goes from the brake switch to up near the fender was shorting against the fender. I replaced the pigtail, problem fixed. Best bet to help you, is find the TSB's for this problem.

The headlights lights are working but the brake lights aren't. I suspect a bad fuse but don't have an owners manual, so I need a fuse panel diagram for a 1996 Chevy C1500. Got one?

no, sorry . but i do have a suggestion that might help. do the taillights work? if so check the brake light switch on the brake pedal. also , does the high mount light work and not the rear ones? if so you may want to check the turn signal switch to make sure there is voltage on that circuit.
