SOURCE: Bonnet latch will not open and bonnet is in closed position
the cable connecting the handle to the latch is broken. remove the front grille and access the latch assembly. you will be able to release by hand and then replace the cable.
SOURCE: The convertible will not latch, while the two rear windows down.
just double check that something didnt get jambed back there behind the seats and nothing is restricting it from comeing all the way up have someone control up and down then watch to see if its binding up some where this should be a smooth transaction
SOURCE: im locked out from my trunk of my 2001 galant gtz
there should be a little lock/unlock switch by the trunk latch...and one of your seats should fold down so you might have to crawl through there and unlock it
SOURCE: Sunroof is tilt opened and won't close. Fuse is
The switch could simply be bad. Take the switch out, disconnect the wire harness from the switch, take a paper clip and hotwire the two metal prongs together to activate the closing position. This will tell you if the switch is bad.
If this doesn't work you may try pushing the glass closed manually, the only problem being that you will not be able to close it tightly enough to keep out the rain and the motor will still think that it is in the open position. After you find the problem and you repair it, you will need to open the glass back to the open position to restart.
If the motor is bad and needs to be replaced, let your local dealership do it, because you do not want to be responsible for pulling your ceiling down. Ceiling boards are brittle and can snap very easily. The carpet can be pulled away very easily. The clips love to snap under pressure. If your local dealership breaks anything while repairing it, they will be responsible for replacing it. Expect to spend about $250-350 in labor plus parts.
SOURCE: my 2001 325ci convertable bmw has the trunk light
The system is designed so that with the trunk open it will not open the roof. If the trunk is fully closed and the trunk light is still on, then find the switch in the boot which operates the light. If you disconnect any wires you could disable the boot completely. Including security.
