I changed the battery in my 1997 Discovery and the radio needs to be reset. The local dealer gave me a 7 digit code, but they don't know the procedure for entering it. Any ideas?

So if you were to pay a dealer for their time & have it
taken into the service bay, not a single tech could put
in a radio code
That is pure non sense

Sorry, I had to say something & I don't have your owners
manual or any other material to help you

Try asking another dealer, or see if you can have it
done with a scan tool at a local repair shop

The battery for my 1997 benz C280 was changed ,now the radio says i need to enter a code. i dont have the code.i need an immediate assistance.the vin number is WDBHA28E1VF559569.

Check with a dealer, they can usually get you the code with proof of ownership, although some of them charge for it. I don't know about a MB, but I've had some luck looking on the internet, however they usually give you a flock of codes, and you need to keep on trying until you hit the correct one. Try the dealer first, and see what they will do for you. Good luck!

2003 Ford Focus Engine lite will not go off. It started out to where we changed the thermostate and radiator hose. Then we found we needed to change the coil. Then we put in new spark plugs and wires and...

In most cases when the engine light is on you're have a problem with a sensor. It is in the emissions most of the time. The things that you replaced (unless the sprk plugs where REAL bad) have nothing to do with the engine light. The best way for you to find out what the problem is, is to take your vehicle to you local auto parts store. Most of them have a scanner and will pull the code(s) that your computer has set to let you know that there is a malfunction in one of the components. They should do it free of charge. Once you have the trouble code (DTC) you will be able to narrow down a solution. I gave you below what the manual has to say but don't let that scare you. Number 1 they want you to bring ot to the dealer for repair. 2 as you now know you can have it checked for free. 3 sometimes it can be as simple as your fuel cap but don't start going and changing things until you know the problem. Also after you fix the problem you will need to reset the computer. This can be done simply by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. Make sure when you disconnect the battery, If your radio has a lock code that you have it as you will need to enter it in order for you to use your radio after the battery has benn disconnected. I hope this helps and good luck.

I have a 1997 Chevy cavalier Radio LOC. I changed the battery this morning now the radio is LOC. Can you help?

My dealer wants $85 for the code. Another dealer - 2 hrs away - wants $50. This looks more like a GM money-maker than a security feature.

Radio code for 1997 saab 900s

I'm afraid if you don't have the code, you will have to take it to a local dealer or specialist radio store to have it re-coded.

Fortunately, it's not expensive.

1997 radio code

Radio codes are only available from the Dealer, you need to goto the dealership with your registration, they will type in your Vehicle Identification Number in there system and give you a 4 or 5 digit code. If you have typed buttons on the radio (3 incorrect codes) the radio will go to a lock-out mode and you will have to leave the key on position 1 for 1 hour to reset the lockout mode.
Hope this helps.
