My first suspect is a clogged fuel filter.Also, check spark plug gap. It is possible the gap is almost to great and when heated up expands and the electric arc fails.

they are prob for the fuel injection , if they are not interfering with operation of the truck , then just tape them up out of the way ,or cut them off as long as you do not need them , what the heck

Look in your owners manual , if you don't have one, google "Helms" to order one.
