Hi I have a Renault Master 2000 (year), 2.8 diesel and the speedo /gauges have stopped working, assume it's a connection? any common faults? Please advise. Thankyou

I know its an obvious question but have you checked the fuses? Always check the simple stuff first, It usually saves you money! The fuse box you need is behind a drop down trim panel, at knee height, below the steering wheel. Try this website. https://fusecheck.com/renault/renault-master-1997-2003-fuse-diagram I think it is Fuse 4 (15A).

Does renault megane 2 have an inertia switch which triggers incase of accident to cut off the flow of fuel to the engine? If yes where is it located?

Most European cars have an inertia switch and location details will be found in the vehicle handbook - or give the dealer a call.

Renault Megane 1.4 16v. 2005. Car not starting at all. What are the problems? Codes are df002.df194.df071.df011.df049.df083.

There is an assortment of codes that on the face of things are only loosely connected, though it is unlikely when so many codes appear at once they wouldn't have a common cause and the possibility of an ECU problem should not be overlooked. The trouble is the codes are not only mostly manufacturer specific, Renault don't help matters by making some of them model specific - different meanings depending on model. You really need another code read and scan with dealer level diagnostic equipment where the model and vin can be entered and each code is displayed with the proper description of the related fault. There are few faults that will stop an engine or prevent it starting, though the Renault immobiliser system is renown for suffering from amnesia and it would be wise to check it is being disarmed as well as carrying out some physical checks that would be usual in the case of a non-start.

Hi i have a megane 1.6 and the hazard lights keep

We had this problem recently on a 59 plate Mk3 megane we initially changed the hazard light switch inside the car after reading on a forum but we were still presented with the problem. At the same time the horn was sounding very worn and eventually stopped working so we purchased a secondhand one off eBay fitted it. At first hazards still come on everytime we started the car but over a couple of weeks the got less and less and now they don’t come on when car is started only when you press the button inside the car so I’m thinking the horn may of had rain get into it overtime and now it’s probably dried out

I have a Renault Scenic 1.4 16V year 2004. The car will not start since showing a low battery sign on the instrument panel.is it the immobiliser? I have changed battery but no improvemen.

Depends on what is happening when you try to start it. If the engine will not turn over, the problem will probably be in the power feed to the starting motor (e.g. blown fuse, fusible link or starting motor solenoid) - easy to check with a multimeter. It could be the security system - I would check for trouble codes with a code reader.

My Renault Grand Scenic a 16Deisel manual transmission brings out white smoke when I travel on low gear for long and also on a hill also when aircondition is turned and engine now goes off and jerks

The colour smoke an engine produces gives a good idea of the fault: - Black/dark grey smoke is partially burned fuel caused by the right amount of fuel being injected badly or by a small excess of fuel. Blue/blue-grey smoke is burning engine oil. White smoke is either steam (usually from coolant ingress) or massive amounts of unburned fuel. A few possible causes of the latter is strangled exhaust, one or more injectors stuck open or a damaged injector (broken nozzle). If there is no coolant loss I suggest you remove the fuel injectors for testing.

What make a car to shake whn driving

It completely depends what other underlying issues there are. But there are a few things you can check... Is the steering wheel shaking as well? If so it could be a wheel balancing issue or bearings, or something else steering related. If the steering wheel isn't shaking it could be your engine mounts, lack of oil, worn bearings, problems with the driveshaft. The Haynes manual for Renault Meganes are a good start, at the back of the book it has all of the fault finding things you can do. Almost all of what I have suggested will need to be checked by a good mechanic.
