Tip & How-To about Pontiac Grand Am

How to preform a key relearn for gm cars and trucks

A relearn of the key is done with the ebrake up to keep the day time running lights off ( not an issue for you) but do it anyway. put key in the ignition and turn it to the on position right before crank for 10 sec. turn it off for 10 sec. then turn it back on for 10 mins. repeat two more times back off for 10 sec.and then back on for 10 mins. it is cruishle you try to keep with in the times or very close. 10 seconds and 10 minutes three times and that will relearn the key.

this will work for passlock 2 systems and newer.

98 Pathfinder All Electrical in Vehicle Gone.

I would go with the corroded cables. You would have power to everything even with the alternator out of the truck.

how do i reset theft system on a cavalier 1998

well it has passlock two and this is common with these cars. never seen the other issue to accompany it but if you do a relearn of the key and it starts then it could be two different issue's but if it don't work then they are related.

i have a customer that can't afford the passlock module and labor so i taught her this and she is better then me now at it. lol... but like i said very common issue. let me know if you have any more question. good luck

daytime running lights

pull the ebrake just enought so that it clicks once but doesn't effect the actual driving. I don't know about your car but if I engage the ebrake just the slightest amount on my old mazda you'll see the ebrake light come on and the running lights go off but it doesn't actually impede the car at all because it's not tight enough to grab the disks.
