It won't start it seems like its not getting fuel it cranks over fine everything looks fine and it just won't start

Have someone listen back by the fuel tank. Turn the key to the ON position. Does the person hear a humming noise by the fuel tank. You can try more than once. Wait 1 min. in between trys. If no 5 second hum then the fuel pump is out.

my 94 Taurus 3.8 wont crank over the timing chain is fine, any suggestions

have fuel system checked...could be that fuel pump has failed....try this ...1.Turn key on but do not start just until you have power.listen for humming noise in the gas tank,it will only humm a few seconds so you may have to listen more than once.....best to have someone stand at the gas tank to listen also.....after trying ywo or three times and you here nothing then this would indicate fuel pump is not working....First check fuse to pump and relay to pump and if ok then replace fuel pump.....

1987 Ford Econoline fuel system

First check fuse in fuse box that powers fuel pump. If this is ok then turn key but do not start just till gage lights come on and listen for humming noise in gas tank, it will only run a few seconds so you might have to do this several times to hear it. Is best to have someone listen around gas tank area while you turn key..If you do not hear humming noise then this would indicate that pump is not working and needs to be replaced.....good luck and if this info is a help then Please rate my post...

turns over but wont start

try this , turn key on without trying to start and listen for humming sound coming from tank. would be better to have someone listen around gas tank while you turn key. if no noise or humming this may indicate that fuel pump is bad.....check fuses first...if you find that this isent the case then check the fireing system, eastest way is check to see if spark plugs are getting fire......after checking this fill free to contact me for more info.....good luck..

my explorer ran out of gas, i filled it up to about a half a tank, now it just turns over but wont start

if it's fuel injected, look on the fuel rail for a schrader valve--looks just like a valve stem on a tire but shorter.remove cap, again just like on a tire.turn key to on-push valve stem in as if to let air out if you get air, then gasoline, you have just bled the system.replace cap, start car.if you get no gas, remove gas tank cap, turn on key, listen for ""hum'' of fuel tank.no hum, check fuel pump.modern[plastic] fuel pumps will self destruct if run dry, even for a short time.
