Exactly which 'light' is the problem? Tail lights, brake lights and reverse lights all normally run on separate fuses. The fuse panel is in the foot well inside the car. It is behind a trim cover on the door side of the foot well, It's the left hand seat of the vehicle at about ankle height, roughly the same area as the bottom hinge on the door. I would say that the actuator on the passenger door lock is bad, and tripping the sensor to the switch. I don't think the boot light has anything to do with the door locks. That, I think is another issue.

hi, Try this procedure. Porsche can be hit or miss with reset procedures. Sometime a Porsche scan tool is needed. 1. Enter the vehicle and make sure that all doors are closed. 2. Push the odometer reset button while turning the ignition key on. 3. Continue holding down the odometer reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the "Service Reset" message appears in the information center. 4. Release the odometer reset button and press the reset button on the bottom of the wiper stalk. 5. It may take a few attempts with this procedure. 6. If the light is not reset, then a Porsche compatible scan tool will be required to reset it.

I doubt the roof switch has any influence over this other than telling the brain the roof is being opened. The brain will then tell the windows go down and presumably will tell them to stop after a predetermined time - unless there is a facility built into each window mechanism. Unlikely as both windows are affected. The fact a fault exists that cause the windows to go right down might simply confuse the system enough to go on strike or what is effectively two problems might really be just one. In order to discover why things are going wrong a thorough understanding of how the system works is needed but even that knowledge will be of limited use without the laptop and dedicated software and the necessary experience to decipher the results and to adjust, repair or reset the system.
