Can anyone pass on some advice concerning my 2008 Highlander leaks when it rains.

I had similar on 02 Highlander. Source was leak from around window trim (rust) and roof racks connector entering and going down the windshield post behind the trim. Gently remove the interior plastic trim piece to the left of the windshield to see any water coming down there. Find source, disassemble whatever is required and use good sealant like supra expert.

My toyota Highlander is showing CHECK VSC light

First check and make sure your gas cap is tight, if this does not resolve the problem read below.A vacuum hose has become disconnected, more than likely due to having your air filter replaced. The VSC and Check engine light typically don't come on until after 150-200 miles after the vacuum hose was pulled out The fix: on the right-hand-side of the engine compartment behind the big plastic housing that holds the air filter you will find a black rubber hose that is not connected to anything. Squeeze the finger clamp on the hose and slide the hose back onto the half inch nipple on the back of the air filter's plastic housing In order for the VSC and Check engine light to be turned off, you will need to open the fuse box, right-side of the engine compartment, and pull the 20 amp EFI fuse for 10 seconds. This will reset the system. The fuse location is marked on the lid of the fuse box, also I believe the EFI fuse is the only 20 amp fuse.(and after you're sure nothing is really wrong with your car), try resetting the "maintenance required" display by setting first your ODO display to the ODO setting. Turn off your engine. While pressing and holding down the ODO button, turn your key to the ON position. The display will do this weird blinking action then it'll go back the ODO reading. No more "maintenance required" display.

On a 2008 Toyota Highlander, where is the purge valve located?

The evap purge valve is located under the hood near the air filter, towards the rear of the filter housing, it has an electrical connector and two vacuum hoses of about 1/2" diameter attached and one of the hoses has a fitting with a green cap on it.

Take it to the dealer and have them "read" the codes. Suggest next time buy a model without built in "sucker" codes.

Tire pressure warning light flashes

You most likely have a battery that has gone dead in at least one of your pressure monitors. If you take it to a tire shop they should be able to tell you witch one is inactive. They are around $50 for the monitor and they will charge you for a mount and balance to change it.

The check engine light and VSC light came on in my 2005 highlander. 168,000 miles

P0420 & P0430 You need new catalytic converter The P0430 check engine light code, like P0420, means the catalyst system efficiency is below the required threshold. Simply put, this means your car is adding more pollution into the air than it's supposed to.

2008 highlander hybrid, wont start

Have you checked the 12 volt battery under the hood? If it's low it won't activate the hybrid system and the engine won't turn over at all.

Problem 1I have 2008 toyota

Your tire wear is something out of whack, bad wheel bearing, ball joint, strut, alignment, lots of stuff, a mechanic should be able to tell you what it is. Check out tirerack.com for tire and wheel packages that would give you a lot of different options and combos on different sizes. I had a car with 16" summer wheels and 17" winter wheels. Not sure about your vsc light, maybe bad senson in the bad bearing, but then seem like abs light would be on as well. Good luck. Hth.

Hi, my wife has a 2008 highlander fwd and after slipping in some snow 4 dash lights came on. VSC off, brake, ABS, and traction control. Engine light did not come on. Dealer downloaded codes C1403, C14

Sometimes a computer reset can clear things up. Try disconnecting the battery overnight. When running the car for the first time after, make sure lights and a/c are off for the first 5-10 minutes or so while it idles and relearns the idle fuel mixture. This clears all the learned functions in the computer so it goes back through the relearn functions.

My 2008 highlander hybrid had a problem with the A/c cooling coil it had leaked. we have to take off the entire dash just to have it replaced. we had successfully place everything in order. but howeve

Hello, the P0420 code is common on corollas with higher mileage, you will need to replace the catalytic converter. The car will automatically be failed if the check engine light is on, Clearing the codes and taking it in to smog may not work because the cat monitor and others need to complete and pass, disconnecting the battery will erase all monitor information. It's not 40 drive cycles but maybe two or so after the repair, usually driving the car on both highway and stop and go city traffic with two drive cyles will complete the monitors, depending on what state you live in it may not be necessary to pass all monitors so ask your local smog station how many and which ones must pass.

Where is the fuse for the rear tail light on a 2008 highlander

If you have only one bulb not working, or if you have only one side of the rear lights not working, it would not be a fuse. Fuses generally control , for example, all the rear tail lights, or all the front parking lights, etc. Those fuses are found in the fuse holder underneath the dashboard of the vehicle. If you have only one bulb out, either the bulb is burned out, or a socket for the bulb is defective, or the ground wire is not working. If you have one side out, you likely have a wiring problem. God bless your efforts.
