Misfire on 95 Corolla
- Check engine compression.
- Check valve clearance.
- Check spark plug gaps. (0.8-0.9 mm).
- Check vacuum leak at intake manifold.
- Fuel pump pressure too high.
Car cranks hard but won't start
The two big categories for cranks but failure to start are
1) no fuel
2) no spark
Things to check for no fuel: a) out of gas which you have checked so that is not the issue, b)bad fuel pump, c) clogged fuel filter
Things to check for no spark: a) see if you have any spark...lots of websites and videos about this b) bad pickup sensor in ignition system c) bad timing

Check the fuel pump for pressure and volume. I had an Accord with the same symptoms. It would pump the proper volume when measured at the ground, but would not pump the fuel up high enough on the car, so it would fail on hilly sections.
