1994 Toyota Pickup - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Hard to put in gear, grinds putting in gear.
The clutch (I assume it is a manual) is not releasing properly. If a hydraulic clutch, it has possibly become low on fluid (brake fluid is used) or has air in the line.If a cable clutch it may need adjusting, or the cable has broken.Less likely causes are that the throw-out fork in the bell housing has broken (it happened to me once), or that the clutch driven plate has become fouled with oil and is sticking to the flywheel.
Door stuck
Take off door panel and check if there is anything broken
Fix death wobble
To fix the "death wobble" you need to add stabilizer arms to the drag link. Use 2 and attach each to the frame on one end and the center of the drag link on the other end. They look like fancy shocks but they will save your life.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1994 toyota
Not sure what engine you have, but on the 22R or 22RE (2.4 liter four cylinder) It's on the right side (passenger) lower engine just above the oil pan, and in front of the starter motor. You go through the inner wheel well just above the right front wheel. There is an access panel.
Not charging clicking noise
Alternator is not working. Try to jump start then remove the line from battery on the negative end and if the car engine stop, that means your alternator needs to change.
How do you get the shifter off of a 1994 toyota
Don't know on that exact one but in general you just have too remove any console in the way, unscrew the knob, remove the shifter boot, put it in neutral and remove the bolts from the top cap and pull the shifter straight up. I have seen some that you had too lift the cap and remove a pin going thru the swivel ball from side to side that holds the shifter in place. Just make sure that nothing falls out and into the transmission. Go slow, have a good light and be careful. When you put the shifter back in make sure it drops back in exactly as it came out, Don't let it get on the wrong side of the forks and forcing it can break off the tip of the shifter. It generally is not a difficult thing to do once you figure out how to get the center console and boot out of the way.
On most Toyota truck straight shifts the problems that I have seen (jumping out of gear & refusing to go into 1st or 2nd) are a little deeper than the shifter bushing. I'm not a transmission specialist so anything any deeper went too the guy 2 bays down.
Most mechanic work is just common sense and a LACK of force!
Need diagram on alternator belt replacement on a
If the same as my '94 cyl then you tighten the belt by loosening the bolt that the alternator pivots on and the bolt that tightens the alternator to it's adjustment bracket. For my truck this is neither fun nor easy. The a/c and power steering belts having idler pulleys with adjustments on them making them MUCH easier to deal with.
