this vw=ehicle may have a bulb monitoring system in it and it is probably telling you that there is some light bulb out in the back of the car. have an assistant run all the lights to determine which one is defective and replace it. the light on the dash should then go out.

If you pop the trunk and look inside. You may have to pull the carpet out of the way, but there will be plastic nuts you can remove with your hand and the entire light will come out and you can replace the necessary bulbs or the whole lens. Thanks.

It's hydraulic and I would start with changing trans fluid & filter. Should be done every 50k. If you're having a shop do it, have them flush the system.

Could easily be the fuel pump on a 14 year old car. You should check to see if your getting fuel to the rails and post back.

Assuming your car actually has power mirrors. If its just one mirror, if could be the control pad is worn out or, the motor in that particular mirror has worn out, and will need to be replaced. If it is both mirrors though, it could possibly just be a shorted fuse. The fuse for the mirrors should be located on the interior fuse box, and will be labeled on the back of the fuse box cover which fuse needs to be replaced.

If you think the tyres are in reasonable condition get the wheels balanced. If the front tyre/wheels are out of balance you get shake in the steering wheel at certain speeds. Backs out of balance are usually felt through the seat.
I cant see a connection between the power steer fluid level and the gear shift.

The diagram should be around the engine somewhere, shows the pattern of the belt. You need to put a socket in the crankcase. Pull the socket toward the front. This will move the pulley, so you can slip the belt on.

DUE TO THE AGE OF CAR, TIMING BELT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REPLACE WATER PUMP, BUT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA..GAS AND OIL HAVE NO EFFECT ON TIMING BELT OR WATER PUMP.....

The radio did fail during the battery removal. If you can disconnect the radio and tear it down you can spray contact cleaner on the volume. It can be dirty that's why it's loosing contact. If it still fails then I believe that the radio reached it's break point and replacement will surely be practical.

If power steering pump is leaking your options are: replace w/new or rebuilt or have yours rebuilt.
They make stop leak for pwr steering units but it's a very temporary fix. In answer to "driving it" - it's at your own risk - if it locks up then there's possibility of an accident. I'd get it fixed and be done w/the worries. Have a reputable shop look at it and give you an estimate.
