Toyota Paseo leaking oil

Do you have any Leaks on the Ground where you Park? If not, You really need to get that Motor Overhauled. Your Motor is Burning the oil Because ther Rings are Worn out in the Motor and the Motor is Detonating the Oil and Burning it. a Rebuild is the Only Solution.

It cools on it's on all of a sudden

Add a Teflon oil treatment and consider servicing your transmission.  There's no reason a small engine should have to be warmed up (unless your oil freezes, in which case you need an oil heater instead.)

Airbag light

There are 3 fuses that control the air bag system, however, you do not want to pull them. One of the three is the 7.5 amp IGN fuse, and another is the 10 amp ECU-B fuse; pull either and the car will not start/run. If you really want the air bag light out, you will have to loosen & pull up the center console & disconnect the center air bag sensor/ECU wiring connector.

Timing

Hi Mart123,
The ignition timing for most Toyota's is set at 10 degrees before TDC....To be able to set it, you'll need to open the diagnostic socket, which you'll find inside the engine compartment....Make up a bridge....(a piece of wire which should have a connector on each end....but you can use a wire without the connector if you want to.....Just make sure that there are no strands which can short out when you plug it in)....you'll see a directory of the available connections on the inside of the lid of the diagnostic plug housing....Bridge between 'T' and 'E1'....this will give you the on board diagnostic read out fr and allow the adjustment of the ignition timing....
om the engine check light from the instrument panel.....To set the timing, mark the notch on the crank shaft pulley and it's also useful to mark the 10 degree's on the scale.... use a strobe light and run the engine at idle speed ad then set....

Best regards Johngee10

1or engine, 3 cylinders. Where are timing marks?

They are often on the crankshaft pulley and timing chain cover, line up tdc on the pulley with a mark on the cover . Some engines have a mark on the bell housing and another on the fly wheel , you may have to remove a cover to find it .

2008 Toyota Passo remove glove box

The Daihatsu Boon is a subcompact car/supermini produced by Japanese automaker Daihatsu since 2004, and also sold as the Toyota Passo and the Daihatsu Sirion. The Toyota Passo is sold at Toyota Corolla Store Japanese dealerships. Outside Japan, the first-generation Boon is sold as the second-generation Sirion. If you can not find Part diagram for Passo then look for Daihatsu Sirion or Boon models. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/uttamjeet_2f3adc18600f8ede

Why are the emission readings high on my paseo

lamba sensors ,depends on what the readings are though ? you check them out by pluging a cheap hand meter in and running engine then checking the readings ,i would suspect that the second sensor isnt reading correct ? but without seeing it myself i couldnt tell you also a small minute hole in the exhaust system after the cat can cause high O2 readings .Honestly without seeing jam jar i cannot really comment .best bet is to buy a pre 1970 car with nothing on it and MOT exempt

What does the speedometer cable screw into before the transmission??

most speedo cables attached directly to the adaptor that holds the drive gear in place in the transmission housing. This adaptor can be removed and the gear comes out with it . The teeth can be inspected and if they are not full and in tact then it is possible that the meshing with the drive gear on the output shaft is not happening. replacement speedo gears are available but you will need the one you have as the gears have several different teeth ratios to allow for speedo corrections

Need 92 toyota paseo to

High HC means moisture in the system. Try driving it longer then take it to the smog shop. Otherwise it could be hard like a head gasket or easy such as a PCV not functioning. Any ways you should always drive it about 20 miles before smog check, longer when the weather is cold.
