1990 toyota tercel ez hatchback timing belt/ won't start
Most likely he is correct you need to manually crank the engine to see if it's damaged or if you just need a new belt
Unless your experienced or broke take it to a shop for a second opinion. What is it going to cost 90 bucks.
My 1990 toyota tercel will
mechanical pumps do not have a relay
what the carby does have is a solenoid controlled idle circuit and you need to give it some accelerator to start if that solenoid is not operational check for power to that solenoid with the switch in the run position
remove the fuel line at the carby and turn the engine over to see if the pump is working
Need help with my carburetor?????
It may not suit your engine expecially if the engine is a different capacity and in this case the carby jets need to be change or tuned to give the right combustion fuel mixture..
My 1990 toyota wont shut off when the key is off
Then the main relay is shorted together possible, recheck the ignition electrical by disconnecting it first and see if you get that click when you put the battery together,if you dont the ignition electrical is the problem if you still do the circuit opening relay along with the main is the problem
My brake light won't turn off even if my foot
Your brake switch is just hung up. it is located directly above the brake petal and is attached to the petal bracket-use a flashlight and get down low enough to see up under the dash where your brake petal is, it will be hooked onto the petal bracket-just move it, it is probably just mis-aligned.
How to tork the heads on a 1990 Toyota tercell?
Here is a picture of the torque sequence. First pic is for a 3A and 3A-C engine. Second one is for a 3E and 3E-E engine. Your federal emission sticker under the hood will tell you which one you have.
3A and 3A-C: torque in sequence in 3 steps. first to 14 Ft Lbs. Second pass to 30 Ft Lbs. and final pass to 43 Ft Lbs.
3E and 3E-E: First pass 22 Ft Lbs. Second pass to 36 Ft Lbs and final pass turn each bolt an addtional 90 degrees.
I put in another engine
Your right, it's the fuel pump. It's not pumping gas into your carb. Hope this helps, James Booth. Also, check the fuel pump fuse before you go into all that work and money to see if its no good. PLEASE RATE THIS!! :))

How to change a distributor on a 1990 toyota
I doubt you machine has a timing chain, it will be a belt. To replace a timing chain means just about a full engine tear down. To replace the distributor. Place the engine at TDC and mark the position of the distributor rotor, also line a fixed mark on the old distributor with a position on the engine. Do not turn the engine at all. Remove the old distributor and install the new one aligning the body marks and ensuring that the rotor is pointing in exactly the same position. Once all the wires are back and the cap is replaced it should hardly be necessary to re-time the engine.
