2006 Peugeot 604 - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Hi - the cenral locking does not work from the key
just making sure i got this correct, it is a 2006 604? if it is that way to reprogram your key is only through the ignition or through a dignostic system which reprograms both, just checking make sure you do this correctly ( not teaching grandma to **** eggs as you said you have tried) first, incert key in ignition , trun ignition on (dont turn over) hold the lock button for 10 seconds (try being precise on the 10 seconds) switch ignition off, remove key, wait 5 or so seconds ( no less than) and that should be it, hope this helped
Peugeot Grab handle broken
Hi Diane,
If the none of the parts are missing you can do this yourself, the trim will screw off and has a few clips have a look and if it looks to broken or complicated then take it to the garage. They are quite simple in design so you should be able to work it out. Let me know if you need any pointers.
Regards
Dan
I'v got a peugeot 406 hdi, it revs up on its own
Most likely cause is the potentiometer that the throttle cable operates. Its either got water in it, or has become corroded or worn. You should be able to get on from scrap to try. DONT disconnect it with the engine running or ignition on - it will cause a fault and have to be reset to clear it.
(Its the sping loaded round device on the end of the throttle cable)
Engine anti pollution system defective
there is a tank next to or inside the fuel tank that may need re-filling but unfortunatly its a job for main dealer only, or the actual partical filter may be at fault which is part of the exhaust system
My citroen relay 2.2 has a misfire and thows out
There are three type's of smoke, 1 white smoke water blown head gasket. 2 black to much fuel not enough air running rich. 3 blue burning oil, check your spark plugs if fowl with oil, need to do a wet and try cylinder compression test if that check's out good, more then likely you have bad valve seal's or oil drain hole's under valve cover are clogged, remove valve cover and with long screw driver unclogged drain hole's. Hope this was very helpful, good luk
Some dashboard lights dont work but runs fine hand
Check the bulbs of dashboard lights and also check the cabin fuse box. Its not a big deal, any electrician can solve this problem.
My advise to you to find out a reasonable quote for this repair, because if there is any problem while you drive (engine oil level is dropped etc etc) then you will at least know it at the spot just because of these lights.
Flashing red stop light to dashboard
i have vauxhall vivaro van got starting problems could be glow plugs but now i have a flashing stop light on what looks like a picture of a engine
I'm trying to figure out where the heck is the oil
the spark plugs are located between the cams you will need to remove the cover from the middle of the head by turning the 6 screws 90 degrees them unbolt the coil pack, unplug in then remove it to get to the plugs
as for the oil filter it is located on the front of the engine in the middle just above the sump (if it is a metal canister type) or to the left of the head at the front (usually under a black plastic cap with a big nut on it) if it is a paper type
hope this info helps you out mate

2006?? peugeot ---made in beloved france ,sorry mate but this is a dealer only job this car has encrypted software so whatever fault code showed its wrong unless the car is plugged in and connected via internet with factory .From an authorised dealer with fingerprint recognition for the operator .So if your stteside and its due for its emissions test they cant do it ,so how do you get on if the cant connect the OBDII scanner to read it .
I drive jetta and the ABS light suddenly
ABS are your brakes and you dont want to take a chance with them going wrong as the abs brakes could be anything like low in brake fluid or disc binding and getting warm or hotter then the others as with abs it works that when you brake hard the brake pedal holds and then lets go for a split second and then grabs again ..but if the engine goes then the Brakes have to be 100% and you dont always get a second chance so get it checked out..
