T came on and the engine stalled out. There was some bottom end noises and i had it towed home 300 miles. I took of oil pan and the oil suction screen was 90% clogged. At the time it overheated there

Oh my gawd, lol. Clean the screen and probably replace head gasket. Have head checked for flatness when removed because these Mitsubishi engines love to warp the heads when baked. Might as well pull the engine and work on it that way. Just go through and look for problems. 90% clogged? with what? I would think the filter would of caught the crap instead of the screen. Did you have the car at a mechanic lately, where they possibly could of done something to provoke that clog? . I have never heard one of them screens clogged up like that, EVER!

When you put Freon in, there should be oil in the freon also. Usually says it on the bottles. Make sure it is not the belt making chirp sounds either. Loose belt can make them chirps or squeaks. These rarely go out, you can find them all over the wrecking yards also if you need one.

How do you replace rod bearings 2002 montero sport 3.5

If they are in good condition, why replace them? Replace them with the same exact size you remove from them. You do not have to go 20 over or 30 over unless you have the engine or crankshaft turned at a shop where they remove a small amount of metal to make the surfaces nice. If that happens, you would need to compensate for that metal removal by installing an over sized bearing. But the shop would also be required to inform you on what size if that happened. I use a prerun grease that is black. really doesn't matter as long as it is thick enough to stay until your ready to start the motor. Don't forget to prefill your new oil filter with new oil. This will decrease the time that oil fills the filter and save milliseconds that could cause damage to new parts. Also, go to the auto store and buy a bottle of zinc additive for the first breakin period of the engine bearings. Zinc is a very needed substance in the oil for new engines. It will help protect your engine during break in period. I use the lucas brand and pour it in with the new oil. I also use Castrol oil because it keeps engine parts clean and I have used it all my life, (my preference only) Stick with the 30wt oils because they seem to have the better additives needed, but use the zinc on first 500 miles. Take your time with what your doing, any mistake will mean disaster in a very short time. I know by experience it doesn't take more then 25mph to seize an engine. Clean your passages also. Anything stuck in a passage will crash a motor faster then you can shut it off. Watch you oil pressure and be sure it comes up quickly when first starting. All that hard work your doing, you better check yourself over and over for mistakes.

Why does my montero cooing system makes gurgling noise

In many cases of gurgling cooling system, you have a possible head gasket problem starting and the combustion from the engine is pressurizing the cooling system. Check your cooling system thoroughly for evidence of a possible blown head gasket. Are you loosing cooling system water? Is your radiator overflow tank being pressurized excessively by the engine. Headgasket problems can sometimes put some much pressure in that overflow tank that it begins to bulge outward. Check the oil and look for any white/greyish milk shake consistency fluid on the oil fill cap or on the radiator cap. Keep a close eye on your oil and water levels if your gurgling sound continues. This is not normal and again, usually is a sign that there is a possible leak between the headgasket and a water jacket on the head. Did you overheat the vehicle anytime soon? This will many times breech a head gasket between water jackets and begin spraying water in small amounts right into the engine cylinders, while it pressurizes the cooling system and makes gurgling noises.

WHY MY 2002 MITIBISHI MONTERO SPORT FUEL GUAGE WONT READ WONT READ

Could be the gauge itself or could be the tank transducer which has a wire coming to it. I would order a "Chilton" manual for your year make and model from eBay. ($25.00 including shipping) The other choice is to take it to a shop.

Have you checked all wires? 1. The ground 2. The power wire to starter. 3. Wire feed to both fuse boxes. 4. Main power fuse might be lose sometimes auto shops will pull the main fuse to the car and not push it in all the way. Try the things I told you and let me know if there is any kind of difference. When I am Driving my car and stop for a traffic light, the engine will die, stop iddling?

Best to check your alternator to see if it's work properly. Any garage can test it. A bad alternator can drain a battery.

Need location of shop that can fix car horns.

most modern car horns are sealed or riveted together. The problem is that the coil and points inside rust out or burn together and so the horn is not worth repairing If that is not your question the any accredited auto electrician will diagnose the problem and carry out replacement of the faulty components.

No it has nothing to do with the cat. Code 161 is for a problem with the heater circuit for sensor 2 bank two. Either the heater in the sensor has failed, or the circuit that powers the heater is not working.

My 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport makes a high pitched humming noise when in reverse backing up. Does not make it when in gear driving.

If coming from transmission may not be a real issue. If coming from rear of car, likely a rear brake issue.
