The cable to the water valve that allows hot water from cooling system to circulate the heating part may be stuck or broken or the valve itself may be stuck. The cable may also have slipped and become too loose so it won't operate properly, last alternative is an air lock in the water system

if it cuts out when at lights or stop signs and your foot is on the brake , it is very possible that the brake booster is leaking air test that by running the engine at idle with the hand brake on and if it is ok but fails when you apply the foot brake , then replace the booster the advice to run the engine on a long drive is not really good advice as the ECM ( if it is fuel injected) will reset the tuning level for the new fuel with in 5 minutes of constant speed driving

Code 172 means the O2 sensor is telling the computer the fuel mixture is too rich. Code 455 is a large evap leak in the gas tank venting system, and code 442 is for a small leak. The engine computer pressurizes the fuel tank every few minutes to check for leaks. Vapor leaks (fumes) could escape into the air if the system is not working correctly. Its possible the system is faulty and allowing gasoline to be pulled into the engine instead of it being vented thru the vapor canister. You would need to find out where the vent leak is first.

A Low Battery Charge would be the simpliest solution - a mere jump start. Chances of the battery being drained from it sitting are highly likely. Does the engine crank over at all when attempting to start - or slower than you remember. You could turn on the lights and try to start it - if the lights go out while trying to crank the engine then your battery power is weak - charge the battery or jump start the car. Also check the battery terminal connections for corrosion - which will give you low voltage also.
