2006 Fiat 124 Questions & Answers
Car wont go in third gear
the gear selectors have to be removed from the box to get the box out
it is possible that the selector area was not properly adjusted after installation of the box
you may be able to see the problem using a friend to shift the gears ( stationary -engine off) while you look at the selector movements --3rd gear will not select easily
the garage that did the job is a fault here as they haven't done the job properly or tested the car after the job to fix faults before you took it back
if you have to , take it to an accredited professional transmission service center for a diagnosis and quote
there will be nothing wrong with the box just the selector system

Where is the oil filter
Sorry, but there is not such ting as a 2006 FIAT 124. Fiat 124 was produced since 1966 until 1980 in different onfigurations such as spyder, coupe, and sedan. The oil filter on those cars is located low, at the driver`s side of the engine, just behind the time belt cover.

Hard to put in to gear on a fiat multepla
most common on this kind of problem,if the transmission is manual, is your clutch system. you need to check the ff.. master cylinder(look for the leak and check the specified pressure). mini-master,muonted to lower part of the engine, check if leaking. both master and mini-master,found deffective, repralce it.

need to check ignition system parts. have an attention especially to your ignition coil. consider also the hi wires, spark plugs, contact point and condenser. and make sure the battery is fully charge. and have enough fuel, and dont have clogged fuel lines and fuel filter.

Why is my power steering not working on my punto
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. First, make sure the fluid level is correct. Next, make sure nothing has came loose, hoses, ect. If everything is ok, you need to check out the power steering pump. Make sure it is working properly. If it is not, replace it. It may be leaking so check for leaks also.

Hi, I've got the same problem. They run on brake fluid not cable. I started to bleed theClutch to adjust the bite point but after one bleed the pedal went to the floor and can't get it back. Tried pressure bleeding it but seems to be no fluid coming out of the bleed nipple. No leaks. Can any one help??

Hi,
My partner has a 14OO
Could be the master cylinder going out. To check this pump the brakes up and hold steady pressure on the pedal. If the pedal slowly keeps going down, then there is fluid bypassing the seals. eventually it will go completely out. Also check the fluid level and check for leaks under the car. Randy

When u come out reverse the gear stick goes stiff,
Hi,
Fiats do not enjoy a sound reputation for their transmissions. If you are confident in your skills, remove the cover / boot that surrounds the gear stick. and check it carefully for fitting into the housing. There may be a plastic of fibre cup that the ball of the gear stick rides in. depending on the locating device for this "bearing" will affect the movement of the gear stick. If you can lift the gearstick and it shows lots of slop, then the 'bushing is no longer holding the gearstick in the correct neutral position which enables each gear, including reverse, to be selected easily. The reason for the 'bushing' failing will have to be ascertained, it may be a simple fix, or it may be lots of aggravation, depending if the parts are all present and can be salvaged.
Good luck.
