When u come out reverse the gear stick goes stiff,

Hi,
Fiats do not enjoy a sound reputation for their transmissions. If you are confident in your skills, remove the cover / boot that surrounds the gear stick. and check it carefully for fitting into the housing. There may be a plastic of fibre cup that the ball of the gear stick rides in. depending on the locating device for this "bearing" will affect the movement of the gear stick. If you can lift the gearstick and it shows lots of slop, then the 'bushing is no longer holding the gearstick in the correct neutral position which enables each gear, including reverse, to be selected easily. The reason for the 'bushing' failing will have to be ascertained, it may be a simple fix, or it may be lots of aggravation, depending if the parts are all present and can be salvaged.

Good luck.

I have Palio which is 3 yrs old.. my clutch is not

Dear Sir,
As you said your clutch is not working , their two types of problem with clutch . one is when you press the clutch and shift the gear if gear shifting is proper but car not moving forward then it is problem with clutch plate assay, and if gear shifting is hard and not able to shift gear then it can be pressure plate or clutch fluid line . if 1st option is same for your problem then it will cost 100to 150$ or it is 2nd option then it will cost 50to 60$. if any issue please let me know thanks.

I HAVE AN OIL LEAK

Hi,
To make sure that oil leaks are coming from the oil filter, clean the side of your engine, remove all the oil sludge and sump. Then run your engine for an hour, check the oil around the oil filter and the whole side of the engine.
If the oil was found around the filter, it means you have to replace the filter immediately. The oil seal on the oil filter is already done!
Hope that helps you!
Thanks for using Fixya!

Fiat Punto 01 oil leak on Rocker Cover Gasket

Possibles here. Valve cover is too tight. If you used sealer on it, it could allow the gasket to slip when snugging.

I have a 1979 fiat

It sounds like the air bypass valve is not closing after warmup and this sounds like a temperature related problem. Air bypass is used much like the old choke on carburated cars for cold starts.
