88 daihatsu charade idling problems

You need to check the throttle stop cushion is making contact. The engine will hunt if you have air in the throttlebody coolant pipes, if the coolant sensor is faulty or if the TPS isn't calibrated.

Carn't find timing marks where

Have a look on the top of the bell housing for a plastic/rubber cap, lift it off and shine a torch into the hole. The flywheel and timing marks should be visible.

Eng.t/plant 1.6 applause into g100 3cyl

It's doable. Some of G100 series (G100, G101, G102) had the fours fitted, so you should be able to do a cut and shut from a donor car.

The 1.6 HDE engine is pretty much the same physical dimensions as the 1.3 HCE and 1.5 HEE. The HDEG is the Detomaso version, which includes a different cam profile, higher compression and extractors.

Beware the infamous G100 chassis cracks around the front suspension, if you decide to raise the ponies..

Replace Head Gasket

It's not your head gasket that's it the problem, it's more likely your rings and bores are worn.

A birthday with new rings and bigend bearings is a good fix. You will need a gasket kit, some sealant and a manual you can find here:

I cant shift into gear, but i can start the car.

Well it's easy enough to adjust the cable and see what happens. Eventually you're going to need a new clutch, but no cost fixes are always a bonus in the interum.
