2000 Daewoo Leganza - Page 7 Questions & Answers
I have a 2001 dewoo leganza that the abs light
although the ABS uses the brake system it functions independently and is comprised of mostly electrical components. Worn brake pads will not effect the abs systems function.
What you need to do is have the ABS system scanned for codes. This will give you a much clearer idea of the direction to go in order to solve the problem. Since the light comes on and stay on after you start the vehicle the ABS system has a failure in its self check. Common causes of this are bad wheel speed sensors but there are numerous other possibilities.
If you have an ohm meter you can check the resistance of all the wheel speed sensors. if one is not simular to the others than that would be a good place to start. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

Am geting a code with this number p0118
OBD Code P0118refers to,
The engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor is a thermistor screwed into a coolant passage in the cylinder head. Sensor resistance is high when coolant temperature is low and resistance drops when coolant temperature increases. The powertrain control module (PCM) provides a 5 volt reference and a ground to the sensor. The PCM monitors voltage drop to determine coolant temperature. If the ECT reads less than freezing temp. when engine has been running for more than a few minutes, the PCM determines a circuit fault and sets this code. Or if the PCM determines the sensor resistance is out of specs, this code is set.
I hope this helps.
Reset the onboard computer
They mean to turn the ignition key from lock to run (don't turn it all the way to start) and back to off a few times. It's like restarting your computer after installing updates. Or you can unhook the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes to clear the codes from the computers memory.
My daewoo is leaking waterand
Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to find the leak. If it is coolant leaking, this is your problem. If it is inside the engine, it will be a hard fix. If not, check all the hoses. Check your level of coolant fluid. If it is a slow leak, might be able to add coolant so often to keep it cool. Make sure your fans and radiator are working. A sticking or bad thermostat is the most common issue for overheating, followed by the water pump, valve, and impeller. If it is a bad leak, it will cause overheating. If you are low on coolant, same thing. If you have a question, let me know.
