Ok, the coolant temperature sensor replaced, And now you get engine temp data error.------- You get this error because, your cars computer is not seeing the coolant temperature sensor.------- You have replaced the coolant sensor, but your cars computer is not detecting that sensor.--------- This can be due to faulty computer or faulty computer relay.---------- Your cars computer is called ecm/ecu/pcm( engine control module--- engine control unit-- power control module).------ Its one and the same. So either is faulty computer or its faulty computer relay under hood.----------- The computer module is located in the engine compartment on the drivers side inner fender.-------- And the computer relay is located in the power distribution box under the hood.Under the hood there is a fuse box, in that fuse box there are few relays.Out of that one is power-train control relay.That relay is got loose or its shorting.That has to be checked.But there are few more relays in the fuse box under hood.i suggest you to inspect all the relays in the fuse box.There may be 4 to 5 relays.Its worth checking all relays before getting computer module replaced.-------

Broken Engine Mount. Get someone to look under it as you shift from forward to reverse with the brake on of course to see exactly what one is broken.

unplug the brake switch from the brake pedal arm and see if it still blows. If not, trace the circuit back to the brake lights.

Use emergency shift interlock release procedure in owner manual.

I think it is to turn key to OFF position, then shift car to neutral. Turn key to ON and starrt car. Shift into drive & go.

the suspension computer is located under the passenger side front fender, forward the front wheel-to access, remove the wheel and the inner fender liner.

Intake Runner Manifold Controller is not opening the secondary runners for the intake-this is a common issue on Marks, check to see if you can manually open the plates by hand, if not, it is usually because they get very gunked/coked up over time. The car falling flat on it's face around 3000-3200 RPM is a symptom of IMRC problems.

the suspension compressor is located on the front corner, passenger side, under the air filter housing. It can be serviced and removed by taking off the passenger wheel and fender liner to get to it.

Spray the door locks with penetrating oil, both sides, where the door latch-then open/close the door many times (12-2- times) to loosen the mechanism, it will fix this, a very common issue on Mark VIII's

it is a known issue with Mark VIII's, second generations-there are numerous posts on Lincoln.org and tech articles covering this, and people who have them tend to disable working systems so that they don't break.

get a can of spray lubricant (PB Blaster is very good) and spray the door latches (both sides)-then, close the doors 15-20 times, and it will fix it-a KNOWN issue on Mark VIII's (I have a 96, you think you have issues...)

Its not unussual for a vehicle to use a little oil. In new cars they call it blow by and in older cars they call it burning oil. I would look under the vehicle it may have a slow leak that is building up as gunk under the car due to the heat of the engine and road grim. So you wont actually have a drip but you will have your missing oil.

Slippage means a couple things one being the bands are going bad and it has to be replaced or rebuilt. The second being a pump in the transmission is not functioning properly. Therefore it is not building enough pressure in the system for the transmission to engauge properly.

those HID's are not made anymore, but you can find them (not cheap) on ebay for a USED one, and you can get a ballast for one the same way, but, it would be better to either buy halogen housings that Ford now sells (also not cheap) or you can buy a regular aftermarket set (HID kit) also on ebay, and you pretty much have your choice of what you can install-9005's, 9006's or other choices, they come with ballasts and you can get a set for less than $50 SHIPPED-you can select the color of lighting, and these are plug and play-they work with your existing harnesses/plugs, but you have to find 'adapters' so that the bulbs will plug into your housings. There is a guy on a Mark VIII forums (google 'DLF')who make and sell these adapters, so you could have a completely new lighting system installed (by you) that you can actually buy parts for is you have any problems down the road.

BTW, 98's are nice, and you have the best trans of all the Marks
