I have 97 mark viii n I c that everytime I get out

Your mark viii has a air ride system. and as you drive, it has a pump under the hood. well over night it leaks down. then when you crank the engine .this pump will come on and air up the air ride system.kind of like a tire. But if just the front goes down ,Then you have a leak at the 2 front bags or lines, or connections. to find the leak try some soap in a spray bottle. after the bags are fully aired up and the engine off.some Lincolns leak worse the way they sit. it could leaking in a few places, that is what the soap is for.you can buy every part for that system from, Air Suspensions out of Orlando FLA 1-800-251-8993.plus diagrams

The car dies out when i am coming to a stop over

Replace the idle control valve, $12.00 part and two bolts on top of motor, easy fix. Rough idle is one coil going out. Wait for engine light to come on and go to autozone, have them tell you what cylinder is causing light to come on and buy new motorcraft coil, replace coil that is bad and problem is solved.

I drove and parked my Mark VIII last evening.

crank sensor, next to the air conditioning compressor-try unplugging it and plugging it back in again, if not it is a common failure on these cars. to replace it you need to remove the serpentine belt, loosen the long bolts (there are 4) that hold the ac compressor to the block, and remove the plug to the crank sensor-then remove the 2 bolts that hold the sensor into the block. They cost around $50., it is not a difficult job if you have a jack and decent tools.

1997 Lincoln Mark Viii a/c

Only two possibilities, one is the vacuum hose that goes from the top of the engine, over to the passenger side of the engine and through the firewall is detached from the engine, or has a break somewhere-the other, more likely cause is the blend door arm is broken, they are notoriously weak and break easily and often on Generation 2 Mark VIII's. You can manually open the blend door if this this is the issue, but replacing it with a stronger, improved version is really the only fix.

How do you read the code on a 1997 Lincoln mark 8

Codes are read by hooking up a scanner to the OBDII portal located under the dash on the driver side. There is no other way to read codes on an OBDII system, which were mandated on all cars sold in America from 1996 on.

Change transmission oil and filter

I have one, and while you don't have to be Houdini, it helps...seriously, the oil filter is a tight fit where it is located, but after doing it for years, I have a few tricks-drain the pan and then get a filter wrench around the housing, turn clockwise until you can get it off by hand-there are hoses with spring clamps for the power steering pump near the opening where the filter has to come out, if it is turned so that the clamp 'ears' are in the opening, you should turn the clamp enough so it is not in the way-pull the filter off the threaded mount, and grab the closed end of the filter, push it up and away from you first, then thread it through the opening-once you have done it a few times it is really not too bad, it is just a bear the first time, really.

Drivers Seat Track part need Is the seat track

The seat track in this car is specific to the model and there is no "suitable substitute" As far as repair goes they do not service any parts for this power seat track, also power seats where standard in this car and no manual seat was ever made for it, sorry, the only new part available is the power seat switch. All I can suggest you do is use the search link below for a used power seat track, the search links to 100's of automotive used part sources and I've always been able to get the parts I needed from them for older cars where no new part was available.

Even though driver door is

Usually the solution to this problem is to use a good penetrating oil and spray HEAVILY the latch mechanism (both doors), let it soak in, and open/close the door 15-20 times-the sensor is in the door and it gets hung up, spraying lubricant on the latches frees it up.
